Re: Sony PC101 will not eccept a tape

It might be the dew sensor, try blowing it shortly with hot air using hair dryer, if still the same, entire mechadeck should be replaced. thanks

Tape door won't open or close to release tape

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV58 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder
1. Per the manual on
- if the power is disconnected door won't open, and if the battery is the dead the door won't open.
Plug it in and hopefully you can get the tape out.

Did this work?

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC-48 and the tape door won't close along with a 32.11 error code.....HELP

Try these steps:

1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
4. Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape.

When I put my tape in the camcorder and close the metal door, the tape does not go down. but when empty, the tape holder do go down.

Hi, My Sony DCR-HC32 handycam's tape mechanism is giving me some problem. It ejects and the tape deck opens up properly but after putting a tape and closing it, the tape deck does not go in. I tried with or without tape but it doesn't go in. It is still open.
Can you please suggest how it could be fixed?

I have a Sony Video8 Handycam CCD-FX340 NTSC. It will not accept a tape. I can hit the eject button and the tape mechanism will come up and pop open. If I close it without a tape, it will go back down....

This problem can be caused by condensation. Leave camera and tapes in a warm dry place for a day and try again. If that doesn't help, there may be a tape threading fault. This can be something as simple as a broken drive belt, but still will require professional attention.

Cannot find way to eject tapecassette

Check eject lever near battery, press it downward to open tape compartment, take out old tape and put new tape, close tape door and let it go inside by itself. Close tape compartment.

Below image will help you to locate eject button/ lever in DCR-HC18E camcorder.

Sony Handycam DCR-PC1E

Yeah ! Your problem is very simple. u can solve it on your own.
If you dont put the tape the comparment closes well and as soon as you pot the tape the compartment does not close , Right ?
The solution is there within ur hands itself.
If you want the compartment to be closed, then simply dont put the tape inside. let it be outside itself. U see, its so easy !

Error Message Reconect Power even if power is connected

It sounds like the tape door is out of alignment, causing stress on the tape and the inside mechanical system.  Requires a visit to the service shop.

C:31:23 error with DCR-PC101 Sony camcoder

Join the other 2,000 plus people at with this exact same problem across the entire Sony product line!
some advice:
Although you will find MANY people there that solved their problem by banging the camcorder, HARD, please don't try this first.
First, open it up and take the tape out, VERY CAREFULLY! You may have one or two parts that have come loose in there, specifically a small black roller and a white clip that locks that roller on. You will see pictures of where to look and what to look for on that website. If you turn the camera upside down and shake it, gently, they may well fall out. BE CAREFUL!!! That 2 cent white plastic part and 10 cent roller cost $25 plus shipping from Sony!!! If they're there, don't lose them! Thee is ample explanation on the website about how to re-install them if this is your problem. If not, almost 80% of people on that website fixed it by banging it, give it a try!

Tape is stuck in my Sony handycam DCR-PC101

If you turned on the power or inserted the battery while pressing the ejct on the camcorder then you have a serious mechanical control curcuit fault or a power supply thats bad inside the camcorder. Probably those small surface mounted pan caps that ALWAYS go bad. It time to take the unint to a pro to be checked unless you have all mthe speacial tools and extenstion cables to work on this camera. Good Luck
