Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

MThe screen on my laptop - HP zd7390ea, has developed a barcode look as the vertical lines are dieing off a few at a time. Could this be a screen problem or graphics card maybe? If I set up a monitor on the parallell port or plug into the T.V. through the multi-media lead the picture is fine. What can I do?

This is a screen problem. It is not a graphics card problem.Eventually, you would have to change the screen of your laptop.

If you have money now, it would be necessary for you to purchase a new screen now before the problem gets worse.

Hp 6530b laptop screen split

It means the screen is dying. Sooner or later the screen will develop more lines. It is possible to fix it (temporary) by pressing both of the ends, but sooner or later it will show up again.

My Compaq presario CQ42 has a white-red thin line at the right corner of the screen. Is it a problem to use the laptop with it before I fix it.

If you see a Vertical/Horizontal colored lines on your LCD, that means either the Video Card, LCD, or the LCD Flex cable (this is the cable that connects your motherboard to your LCD screen) are going bad and needs replacement. You can still use your laptop though but I strongly recommend having it fixed ASAP before it gets worse. You're still under warranty, call HP/Compaq at 1-800-652-6672.

Good luck.

I have vertical lines on the left side on my hp nc6120 what could be wrong

What is happening to your laptop is the power line connecting a few rows of pixels are failing so only partial colors are showing up causing the vertical lines. Usually screen replacement is the only answer to fix it. You can usually find replacement LCD on Ebay.

Tv is about 4 years old. Suddenly developed two

Your plasma screen is made up of 1080 verticle lines and now a few of these lines are not working. This is the screen itself and needs replacing.

Same problem with my zd8000 HP Pavilion laptop

what has happened with your notebook is a simple wear factor. on the LCD screen there are ribbon cables witch join the main PCB controller head to the LCD laminated portion (what you see) have begun to wear. i have just recently replaced a screen because of the same issue. try gently flexing the the screen and see if the lines dissappear. next open the screen up, and check the cable running to the back of the screen take care as to not damage anything.

Pavilion zt1130 monitor problems

For the time being its dying I hate to say this but its true. WHY because I have one and thats what Im using now. My laptop is an HP when I bought it it had a Warranty so I sent it to be repaired and the Datacom people and Agency for HP rang me and said I have to pay $1300 to repair this machine because of negligence. I ask what do you mean he said I had a cracked screen that I did it. Some weeks later I spoke to friends about this problem I had and they said they heard heaps about it too. Well the short story to this and I dont mind broadcasting it. Hewlet Packards are ****...they specially built my machine for things such as this to break and yell negligence. Now to get back to your problem eventually your screen will be no longer functioning and the only way for you to survive is to go the cheap way. I went out and bought a PHILLIPS flat screen moniter 17" with PC and TV capabilities and Im over the moon.....your right it defeats the purpose but for a few bucks less I would rather this way then that useless HP way.
