Bluetooth is a short-range (33 feet/10 meters) wireless technology that allows two Bluetooth-enabled devices to connect wirelessly and communicate between them. If your son's Samsung MX-H620 HIFI is not Bluetooth-enabled, the two devices will not be able to connect in any way. If the headset were corded (it is not because it is Bluetooth) you could plug its cord into the headphone (LINE/AUX IN) jack on the Samsung. if the Samsung system is not Bluetooth, the only option is to find a suitable Bluetooth adapter to make it Bluetooth-enabled. However, you can use the Sony headset to listen to music or make phone calls from Bluetooth-enabled devices that you own such as phone, tablet, iPod, iPad.
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows devices to communicate via high-frequency radio signals. Bluetooth headphones are just one of the many devices designed to work with portable music devices as well as ordinary phones. With Bluetooth headphones, you can listen to music as well as make and receive calls--all from the same device. Connecting them is a snap.
Turn on your cell phone. Enable Bluetooth by accessing your phone's general or network settings. Your phone will search for Bluetooth signals in the area--they are usually denoted by a small icon displayed on the screen. If you don't know how to turn on Bluetooth or aren't sure whether your phone supports Bluetooth technology, refer to your phone's user guide.
Turn on your Bluetooth headphones while near your cell phone. Turning on a Bluetooth-enabled device will usually put it in pairing mode, meaning it is actively searching for a device to connect to. Since your phone also is actively searching for a Bluetooth device, it should find it right away and prompt you to connect to it. It may ask for a password--refer to your headset's user manual for the default password and how to change it.
Test your connection. Once your headset is paired, the phone will usually start sending calls and audio to it without any additional configuration. Some phones may prompt you and ask which device to use. Try making calls and/or playing music. If you hear music from only one ear, your phone may not support stereo Bluetooth. If you don't hear anything, re-pair the headphones. Power off your phone and headphones, then turn them back on and repeat steps 1 and 2.
Make sure unit is fully charged (no red indicator when plugged in).
Press and hold the power button until indicator rapidly flashes red/blue back and forth.
Search for device again. More detailed instructions here.
There are two types of profiles that Bluetooth headsets uses. One, it is called the A2DP (Advanced Digital Profile) and second is called the Headset profile (Mono).
The A2DP is used for listening music that's transmitted from the phone to the headset. The Headset profile is used for calling. But the A2DP can also be used for calling if the phone or the headset support it.
If one of your device (either the phone or the headset) doesn't support it, then that could be the reason why you couldn't hear the sound.
If both devices support A2DP, make sure that your headset is connected to the phone via the A2DP profile.
You need to refer to the phone manual to see if it's supported by your phone and how to connect to it.
sorry to let you know but sony w180 does not suort an A2DP profile, which is necessary to listen music wirelessly. so u'll have to change ur handset if u want to listen to music via ur bluetooth headset.!!
All the bluetooth wireless headset are only capable of making/receiving voice calls. Y? its a bluetooth software which is installed on ur cell phone. it is not capable of listing the music through the BT headset. BT 1.1 Software version only lets you listen to mono. BT 1.2, Version playing music through a BT headset while music is playing on laptops. and again we need to find out what BT software version is on the phone and if sony erricsson came out with better BT software for your needs.
