I HAVE kENMORE GAS DRYER SERIES 80. last week dryer would heat for a minute then go out. Dryer would spin with no heat. Wnt to appliance store told me to change heater fillaments that one was bad after...

Your ignition unit may be worn out and will need to be replaced. Generally, a heating element comes on and once it reaches a certain temperature, it ignites the gas pilot. Then the heating element cools off because the gas is now burning and producing heat. When this heating element stops working correctly, it will not reach the right temperature to ignite the gas. You'll need to have a professional perform the repair. If the dryer is still under warranty, this might be covered.
Check your owner's manual.

I hope this solves your problem. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice!

Model # LE7680XMN0--the dryer had been running the day before and I went to start it and it doesn't start--have checked the plug. Also could you tell me how old this model would be?

This is definitely an older dryer. If the power supply is okay and the dryer does not start, the most likely problem is a bad power fuse part number 3392519. Other problems are possible but this is the most likely one. It's located in the back of the dryer behind the large rear panel. It's white and about 1&1/2" inches long. Always unplug your dryer before servicing.

The worked fine 2 days ago then went to use it

Hi there,  I'm not sure if you've had your dryer fixed yet, but it sounds like the heat exhanger (which is located on the lower right front side of your machine. To clean this, you must first disconnect the power cord from the wall. Next, you slowly remove this and clean it thoroughly with running water. After you wash it, let it dry completely - and then insert it back into the machine. It's a good idea to write down the steps you took in removing it, so when you put it back - it will make it easier. If it's not inserted right, your door won't close - so that's why it's important to jot down the steps when you removed it. Hopefully, this has been taken care of already. But if not, feel free to contact me. Also, it's a good practice to change the lint trap before or after each load. This machine is very sensitive to it, which is good - because it's protecting it and its longevity. Good Luck!

Went to push the dial in to start and it won't

first make sure you have power to the dryer.if you have power to the dryer than put your ear to the timer and see if you hear the timer running.if the timer is running than you nead to unplug the dryer and pull the dryer away from the wall so you can remove the vent hose and the back panal and the power cord cover.next look down and to the left and you will see a white plastic thermal fuse.remove the wires from the fuse and use a meter to see if the fuse is closed.if it is not replace the fuse and replace the back and power cord cover.plug the dryer in and check unit out.

Dryer has no power

Have you manually reset your breaker? Sometimes breakers can seem fine but they actually aren't. Physically turn the breaker off and then back on. If this doesn't work, you will need to find out if your particular brand and model has a fuse that needs to be replaced.

MY LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer will not power on

Check the junction connection behind the dryer where the power cord and terminal block to make sure that the screws are tight.  Then use a volt meter to check for voltage.  The 2 outside wires should be hot leads and the center is neutral.  Check hot to hot and you should get 240 volts.  Check hot to neutral and you should get 120 volts.  If you get those voltage readings, then you have a control board malfunction and needs to be replaced.  There is no reset switch within the dryer for the control board.
