Question about Philips 27PT9007D 27" TV

1 Answer

Unit shuts off after turning it on

This television shuts off immediately after turning it on unless you simultaneously press and hold both the channel up and down buttons for a minute or two. I have sent every board (essentially everything but the picture tube) into PTS for diagnosis and repair. They could find no problem with the boards or button assemblies and sent instructions to adjust the VG2. Adjusting the VG2 has helped only in that the television will now stay tuned in to a channel after releasing the channel up and down buttons. Prior to adjusting the VG2, releasing the buttons would result in the unit immediately shutting down.

The TV is blocking certain channels and I don't know the code to unblock it.

If you forget your password, press and hold TV on the remote and the
MENU button on the television

simultaneously for 3 seconds. Parental
controls will then unlock and you can re-enter a password via Lock
Parental Controls.

Make sure you aim the remote at the TVs sensor while you press the TV button, and hold the menu button in on the front of the television.

Admiral code for JSJ12800 Vchip is activated don't know the code?

Hi,

Usually you need to go to menu option and then then parental control. When display asks for secret number,Press and hold volume up and channel down simultaneously until message is cleared. This turns off parental control and clears the password.

Note - You must press the volume up and channel down buttons on the TV, not on the remote.

If the problem persists, revert and i would be able to search exclusively for this model.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Sanyo TV I need a code for my optimum cable remote control to turn on and off the TV with their remote control.

Here's the instructions and codes plus an alternative method if one of the codes below do not work.

Three-Digit Code Programming Method:
  1. Turn on the TV.

  2. Press and hold the TV and DONE buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The iO button will light.

  3. With the iO button lit, point the remote at the TV and enter the TV's three-digit code (see code table below). The TV will shut off when the correct code is entered.

  4. Verify by pressing the SEL button. This should turn the TV on and off.

  5. Press the TV button to store the three-digit code. The iO button will blink twice to confirm that the code is stored.
Codes: 007, 053, 057, 082, 020, 239

Auto Search Programming Method Use this method if the three-digit code method does not successfully program your remote control:
  1. Turn on the TV.

  2. Press the CBL and DONE buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The iO button will light.

  3. Hold down CH+ and release it as soon as the TV powers off.

  4. Press CH- five times (the television may or may not turn on again as you do this). If the television does not power, turn it on manually before proceeding.

  5. Press CH+ one at a time until the television shuts off.

  6. Press TV to save the code.
To save time, the Auto-Scan function is trying codes as fast as possible while CH+ is being held down. It scans so fast that you may pass the desired code while holding down the CH+ button. Steps 4-5 allow you fine tune the auto-scan so you reach the correct code.

Blocks all channels even Public channels

I'm not sure for that particular model, but here are the unlock sequences for a few RCA sets, hopefully one will work.
Go to the parental control under preferences on your menu and select it. When you see 'enter password', press VOL+ on the remote and the CHANNEL + on the front of the TV at the same time. Enter New Pwd. will appear on the screen. Press the number buttons to enter a four-digit code.
Make sure the TV is off. Simultaneously press and hold VOL- on the TV's front panel and CLEAR on the remote for approximately 5 seconds.
press and hold TV on the remote and the
MENU button on the television simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Forgot v-chip code

Sharp has several locking and V-chip commands but one of these three possibilities should work.
Newer Combos With "Time Limiter" Feature
If the "Secret Number" is forgotten, simultaneously press the STOP, RESET, and VOL up buttons on the front panel of the set.
This disables both the "Channel Lock" and the "Time Limiter" features.

CTV's Lock Mode---Blue screen and display says,Parental Control Rating Unknown
Try This: Hold Channel up and down on the set while pluging in AC cord.
Or Try This: On the set, press volume up and channel down at the same time.

CTV's V-Chip Release
When screen asks you to "input secret number" press and hold channel up and down on the TV set until message disappears. Press menu 2 times to exit.
Hope this helps!
