Question about Pioneer Flat Panel Televisions
Have been using universal remote from cable co. to run digital cable box and tv for 2 years. Remote function on tv has been periodically not working last month. Cable guy came out and reprogrammed a different remote 3 weeks ago. Worked for a day-didn't work for 3 days-worked again for a few days and now doesn't. Cable guy came back and couldn't get digital cable remote or original tv remote to work. Says he thinks it's a sensor issue in tv. Have changed batteries in all remotes. Have had 3 different remotes in last month. All operate cable box fine but not tv. Can't get menu window or turn tv on/off or volume. Is this something that can be fixed on site? Anything I can try before calling service?
I also had this same problem. Both the original remote and my universal remote failed to give any response on the TV. Normally the green light flashes when it receives a command from the remote. Called LG Support and they made me an appointment with a local repair company for 3 days later. This seemed pretty quick compared to other companies repair times I'd read about. However next day the repair company called to say it would be 5 more days before they could get a Tech to my location (downtown ATL). 8 days was a long time to wait but once tech arrived he diagnosed it to a bad board and simply went to his truck and swapped it out with mine under factory warranty. Everything has been fine since.

I just realized that there is no usb port on this tv. Called tech support at vizio since I'm still under warranty. They're sending a new remote. I know it's not the remote because neither the verizon nor the vizio remote works, although the vizio remote will intermittently work if I'm one foot away from the sensor on the tv and holding the remote on a downward angle. Tech support says they will send a new remote to rule that out before they send a tech over. I'll check the posts to see if you find a solution when I finally get the tech guy out here. If not, I'll let you know what he does.

Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV. Thanks for the tip!

there are different codes for the devices that you are using. When you want to insert the code for the tv. > Switch tv on and then switch all the other devices off. Insert code. For digi box > switch on and all other devices off. Insert code for digibox. You must then switch between tv and digi box using the buttons on the top of the remote. Toggle between tv/ digi box.
Have a go with the codes below with the tv and the digibox both on, you never know you might get lucky as these are new codes, if not revert back to 1st solution.
Universal Codes (both should work using these, i think!!!!! try 'em)
Here are the codes for the 1st solution.

Here is the link for the manual - c ould be a remote set up issue or this could be puffed caps in the power supply - have a qualified tech check that out
