Re: lines appear

Normally that problem occurs when the obturator is allways opened, to be fixed needs to exchange the lens

The top half of my pictures with a flash are shaded.

Not seeing the pictures I have to guess. If the shade you mention is not like a straight line, but more rounded, try making the picture without the lens hood. Or use a external flash, when you use another than the standard lens. I don't think you can take a picture in manual, with a shutter speed above 1/250 second, because in such case the top or bottom part could become shaded then, but then the shade is in a straight line from left to right.

Viewing screen failure.Lines are appearing across the viewing screen

It is possible that the LCD is faulty. If you are able to open the camerra to check on the power and the connecting cord it can be confirmed.
If the pictures taken are perfect when loaded to the PC the fault on the LCD is confirmed.
Check for any faulty capacitors, check the power to the LCD from the power to confirm the LCD panel.

Cannon PowerShot A80. Pictures come out with red tint and what appears to be horizontal lines across complete image. However, record video without problem.

If camera shows previously taken pictures in playback mode and does notshow live view to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chipfailure. CCD imager will be replaced in your Canon A80 camera.
Canon offers free of cost ccd imager replacement, click Canon CCD Imager Advisory for details.

Stripes across viewing screen

almost sure this is cause by flex circuit in the zoon lens that is damaged and need to be replaced. Almost always the problem of stripes in the picture is worst when you take pictures in full zoom mode because in this position of the lens the flex circuitis is fully streched. Thats all folks

Shade spots and line in SD950 IXUS

The most likely issues are that the glass in your lens is damaged (you can look down into the lens and see if it is or not) or your CCD is defective or dirty. If it's the CCD you need to take the camera and then the lens apart and clean it. If neither of those works you would need to replace the lens assembly.

If you don't want to do it yourself we are a digital camera repair business and can clean it for you for a very affordable price. If we can help let us know, even if you just need to ask a question.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Lines across the LCD screen

Two things can cause lines across the LCD either horizontal or vertically. The first (and most likely) is a small crack in the display wafer. LCD stands for Liquid Cristal Display. They are very fragile and can be easily damaged if dropped. I broke one in my pants pocket.

The second would be if a pin on the ribbon cable (to the LDC wafer) was not making good contact. If you disassemble the camera it is possible to clean the contacts using contact cleaner (or alcohol). Only attempt this is you are willing to replace the camera if you don’t put it back together properly.
