The wiring system may be different if you use the separate circuit board and it may or may not work properly.it is not sure.it is recommended to use the same board itself.the board is available in any leading electronic stores and they will recommend another perfect one if the asked one is not available .thank you

You can connect the accousti mass 30speaker to Yamaha receiver by connecting the speaker of the it and only problem could be the sub woofer as it its consealed in the unit you remove the wires of the sub woofer and connected with long wires and connect it Yamaha receiver
Make sure the speakers impedance is recommenced level or speaker could damaged if there is a mismatch in the impedance..Independence is printed behind the speakers ...

    Good luck..

If only the Power section is damaged then it is easily repairable . If you know the problem and require the spare then let me know.

Just in case,, find the out that goes into the amp board,,m and use an external amplifier for the system..

Bose is the beast,,, Personally I would have gone with the bose,, professionally I'm compelled to help you save money.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Dec 28, 2008

Well unfortunately you will need some type of amplifier for this. If you wish to try without one,, Find the output /// The input for the amp board,, the wires should be labeled in.. and connect this to the input of the reciver..

basically accoustimass30 output to yamaha input.. you said the amp board was damaged ,, there should be a connector to the ampboard thats where you will find the output or the input to the ampboard.. The purpose of the amp is to increase the sound and make it audiable.. I dont think you will get anythng without the amp.. sadly.

Hello I have a bose surround sound system in my house, both inside and out. It appears that only the inside portion of the surround system works and the remote for the outside portion the RC48S2-27 model...

I think we're discussing the Personal Music Center II.

I had to back into the product from the remote model number. Can we assume you also have one of the compatible LS systems (18 or 28 Series II or the 38 or 48) ?

You can go to Bose.com and search for it or register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Bose-Personal-Music-Center-II-Universal-Remotes-manual/id/526dj583/t/2/

The first item in Troubleshooting (page 28) might explain what's happening.

Back ground sound is so high you can't hear the dialog ,meaning having \r\nto turning ssound up way too high

This can mean only one thing. Your center channel is not working. Either you have a damaged center speaker of you have a damaged center amplifier. You can confirm by first turning down the volume to normal levels and disconnect any one of the speakers and connect it to the center channel output. If you can hear the dialog the center speaker is defective.
Another way to hear the dialog is to change the surround setting to PL II music or just disable surround and chose Stereo mode.

When i turn on my Samsung HT-C550 IT showing PROT and DVD turn off. What this is mean PROT?

PROT means that the AMP is protecting itself from damage due to bad or incorrect wiring or damaged and or incorrect speakers. Check your wiring and speakers.
If you find no problem then, DISCONNECT YOUR SYSTEM FROM THE POWER, disconnect your speaker wires...all of them, then reconnect the power ONLY, turn on the system and see if it still says PROT. If it does then your amp is damaged.

Bose products are highly proprietary. If they have non-standard connectors from the amp or in the speakers I'd take that as a clue they're NOT compatible with other manufacturers' products.

How can i get more power through 8 ohm speakers?

In addition to the impedance rating of a speaker, there is also a wattage rating. Ideally, power output of the amplifier should not exceed the power handling rating of the speakers. The input impedance of the speakers should match the amplifier output impedance for maximum power transfer (Rin = Rout where R is resistance in Ohms). Supplying more power or wattage to the speaker than it can handle will result in distortion, and if the output of the amp is high enough and present long enough, it will damage the voice coil of the speaker. Make sure that when comparing wattage ratings, you are comparing the same rating between amps & speakers. Watts can be expressed three different ways: "Peak", "Peak to Peak" and the industry standard "RMS". The relationship is such: an industry standard value of "70 Watts RMS" (70W RMS) equals "100 Watts Peak" (100W P) *and* also is the same as "200 Watts Peak to Peak" (200W P-P). Furthermore, there is no such thing as 200W "Music Power" (but is often expressed this way to inflate the RMS wattage rating (and usually is close to the P-P rating). A speaker is an electrical device, so most the things that happen to electrical devices when over powered can happen to speakers and amplifiers, too.

Increasing the signal source level (input signal to the amp via volume control) in an attempt to get more audio power to the speaker can overdrive the amplifier - resulting in "clipping". This is plainly heard as "muddied" sound. The otherwise loud, crisp, clean passages in music end up sounding garbled and unpleasant when an amplifier is over driven in this way. This can damage both the amp and the speaker.

Cheap amps with higher THD (total harmonic distortion) ratings sound worse than their counterparts with a lower THD rating - when all other variables are the same. You'll pay extra for lower THD values.

You might be able to make a speaker seem louder by positioning the speakers against a wall, on the floor, etc. Experiment; as it can make a significant difference in sound levels and low frequency bass sounds.

I hope this was helpful!

Sound

No, this is not possible because the sub is also amping and decoding the sound, so you need an additional surround amp and processor. Check on ebay if you can find some HTS3450 speakers, i know a lot the sets are damaged and than the speakers are worthless.

Possible Short

This is called the "protect mode" and it does this to keep the unit from more damage, meaning that the unit has some type of damage now and if it were to remain on it will cause more damage.

Most of the time this will happen because of a bad channel in the amp circuit. On more rare occasions it is the power supply causing it. The only way to fix this problem is to repair whatever damage has been done to it.

It will take the proper tools and some electronic troubleshooting skills to fix it. If you have a multimeter and soldering equipment I can help you with this and tell you the most common places to check for problems, but it will require some minimal skills on your part like being able to identify certain parts and be able to pay very close attention to details, and understanding certain electronic terms. If you would like to try this yourself let me know, otherwise, you should take it in to a service center and let a professional check it for you. You can get an estimate first before deciding if it is worth fixing.

Bose Lifestyle 12 Porblems

sorry mate, looks like cd 5 is damaged goods...... wheter you damaged it or not, can't say....

however, make sure. when you try to play cd, that the cd button, nearest display was pressed as just putting in a cd isn't automatically taking control of the cd function like in other cd players. ( that is to say you have to diliberately select CD mode to play cd's)

if you fancy a load of electronic messing and visits to radio shack i am sure you can repair it if broken,
or a second hand cd unit could be obtained elsewhere on line.

No sound ? Make sure the audio input cable is connected to the music center FIXED outputs, the black connector is fully seated in the music center SYSTEM CONTROL 1 jack, and the multi-pin connector is firmly seated in the Acoustimass module jack. ? Turn the music center off for ten seconds, then on again, to reestablish communication between the music center and the speakers. ? Check the connections for any external components. Make sure to select the correct source for the desired input. ? Check the speaker connections. ? Be sure the CD is placed correctly, label-side up, in the music center, and the cover is closed. ? Increase the volume. ? Check to see if MUTE is lit in the display. Press the MUTE button on the remote to unmute the sound. ? Disconnect any headphones. ? Connect the FM and AM antennas , and last but not least. Make sure there is power going to the remote speakers or the unit will not communicate with them. Good Luck
