You can purchase the ceramiic cook top cleaner from the supermarket, apply as you would wax a car, in small circular motions until it dries to a haze then in similiar fashion, wipe off. As far as the stubborn spots that remain, reapply the creme and scrape off with anew clean razor blade, held flat to the cooktop ( not using the corners) will get just about any stain form hte unit. Manufacture usedto supply such razor blade scrapers, but for liabiltiy reasons no longer can package in. use a terrycloth towell as well, paper towell are filled with lint and can actually scratch

Why won't one burner stay lit

Burners get dirty. Grease and food can get the way where gas needs to travel. The burner comes apart for cleaning. If needed, use oven cleaner to clean stove top parts.

What causes an instant pot to go into “burn” mode?

There are several possible reasons why an Instant Pot might go into "burn" mode:
  1. The pot is empty: The Instant Pot is designed to detect when the pot is empty and will go into "burn" mode to prevent the heating element from burning out.
  2. The pot is too dry: If the pot is too dry, the Instant Pot may go into "burn" mode to prevent the food from burning.
  3. The pot is too full: If the pot is too full, the Instant Pot may go into "burn" mode to prevent the food from boiling over and causing a mess.
  4. The pot is dirty: If the pot is dirty, food particles or debris may be stuck to the bottom, which could cause the Instant Pot to go into "burn" mode.
  5. The Instant Pot is malfunctioning: In rare cases, the Instant Pot may malfunction and go into "burn" mode even when it is not supposed to. If this occurs, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
If your Instant Pot goes into "burn" mode, it is important to follow the instructions in the manual for safely addressing the issue. This may involve removing the pot, allowing the Instant Pot to cool down, and cleaning the pot before attempting to use it again.

My crock pot has 0;I,II and a pic of pot ..what do these symbols mean and how do i know when my food is done

The pot setting is for keeping the cooked food warm. Crock pots are not automatic food cookers User interaction is needed to turn it on or off, much like a stove. In other words, human interaction is required. I suggest using a timer or alarm.

I have an 11 month old kenmore stove with black enamel top. I can not get the area around burners clean. It appears to be fused to the top. I have used every cleaner and it won't come off. Went to outlet...

I think one thing that happens especially with a black top the heat from the burners when pots and pans are used spreads down onto the burner section and because its black it is hotter than a white top. I think you will find the color itself is burnt and not just dirty.. In asking some one they feel I am right and there is no way it will look new again. Looks nice for a while but not for long. Sorry

Can glass kettle be used on glass hot top stove?

No you should not use a glass kettle or glass type pots on a ceran top stove. Always use metal flat bottom kettle and pots. When buying a metal kettle make sure that there is no gap between the bottom of the kettle and the surface of the ceran top. Some metal kettles have an indentation on the bottom. This does not work well on the ceran top.
Hope this helps.

Streaky, filmy black stove top

Re: Streaks

After a final clean up with a a wet & well rinsed cloth buff the surface with a microfibre cloth & it will look like new.

If there re any difficult ares to remove use a glass cooktop
paste cleaner (from Sears, etc)then and finish off with the microfibre cloth.

Doesn't always drain

Do you always rinse off the pans and pots and dishes before washing them. If not you may have food debree stopping up the works. Check the water drain intake. Open it up and check and clean the inpeller on the pump. Remove and inspect and/or clean out the hoses. Then finally remove the hose to the solenoid and turn dishwasher on for a moment to see if water will drain into a pan. Then replace your solenoid valve with a new one. Good luck!

We have a ceramic flattop stove. Is there a heat element to prevent pot from scorching or burning food?

just takes practice and using smallest burner appropriate to pan. also should use medium weight FLAT pans. put a straight edge on bottom of pan before using or buying. I have seen pans that are $200 each that I don't feel are flat enough. much of gourmet cookware is designed to work on gas tops. The surface also needs to be cleaned every time it is used. I have a 6 month old white top that still looks brand new, lot of work though.
