I had installed a new Samsung 47" HD flat screen TV on the wall that required me to take apart the Home thearater unit and move to another place. When I hooked everything up I would loose power when the volume got to high. I was told to check all my positive and negative connections which I dd. There were a couple of them wrong. Now what is happening the power will not come on at all. A banner comes across the screen "Check Speakers". I rechecked everything and pulled the wires out to the TV. Still nothing. I even disconnected all the wires and let it sit for an hour hoping it would reboot and still no power and still the "chk speakers" banners come on. I am hoping there is a reset button of some kind. I took the cover off and I do not see one.
Have I blown the reciever?
My wife is really upset!!!

Do this only if you are a qualified service technician:
This problem can come if any moisture has entered or is formed inside the TV.
Switch of the power outlet, and remove the plug. Open the back cover and check what are the parts burnt visibly. If it is in the SMPS area, you may require a thorough check on the load and replace all the burnt parts by looking through a Service Manual. Anyhow, this might require attention by a qualified service technician.

You need to upgrade to the high definition
cable box---but first try this. Hook the cable from the wall directly to the tv
and autoprogram it. If Comcast is anything like charter they transmit the local
Hd channels in a format that digital tuner will pick them up. Just channel
up/down and check out the channels with -1 and -2's behind them. Depending on
where you are----your local channels will usually show up wherever they
normally do but with a -1 behind it.
EX: local Fox channel on 47---autoprogram and check 47-1
If this is enough HD for you then get a two way spitter and hook your box back
up and keep using the RCA (composite) cables for the best it can produce.
