Hello, help please !!! In my companie there is more Compaq EVO T20 with loosed password ... how we can do to restore initial settings or delete it ? Thanks a lot in advance. Regards

Easiest way is to reflash it back to factory default somtimes pressing and holding G key when you power up will also return most setting to default once reflashed it is the Original Password set by HP/ Compaq if you do not know that perhaps you should not be playing with these units

Removing password on T30

YES.... providing that the hard drive was not completely re-formated before the windows OS was installed.

Usually, manufacturers leave a section of the HD for this so in the event that something goes wrong, you would be abke to revert back to the manufacturer's setup.

Simply follow the following instructions... :

1) remove power from the T30.
2) hold or tap the 'G' key on the keyboard
3) apply power back on T30 while maintaining step 2)
4) turn on T30 via power button while maintaining step 2)
5) T30 should eventually boot up and in factory default settings.

If this doesn't work, repeat process or the T30 was configured to disable the 'G' key. In this case you need to reflash the firmware on the T30.

Solving Hp thin clients problems

You dont have one thin klient connected to a Server, as the Serversoftware itself max. the cost of ordenary poeple.
furthermore, a Server for that purpes is normaly with two CPU's and at least 4GB of RAM, - and that would set you back at least US$ 5 - 10.000.
My "help", therefor would bee "stay the hell away".

Jumper settings to bypass password

Default passsword is Fireport (note: case sensitive)

To get set password to default unplug power, open case and find jumper next to battery (mounted vertically) on motherboard.
Put jumper to other position. Plug in power, wait ten or so seconds. Unplug power, put jumper back, and voila.

Upgrade 238622-001, Compaq Evo T30 Thin Client 300Mhz 32MB Flash/64MB/Win CE NET/IE 5.5 w/o

You need to replace the 2mbit bios chip used by the WinCE Evo with the 4mbit one used by the NTe and XPe Evo, then you need an add on flash module, since the onboard flash is too small. After that, just find the OS file and flash away. You can find the OS files and a utility to flash from the HP support site. You'll need a crossover ethernet cable, not a patch cable, to do the flash.
