Looking to get new mother board because it went on fire, old mother bd was asus P5VD1-X HAVE INTERL P-4 CHIP AND DDR 400 MEMORY THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP USING WHAT MOTHER BOARD DO YOU SUGGEST

Better to purchase new mobo, cpu n memory. Bcoz the compatible Motherboard for your CPU/Memory is no longer available. If it is available, only from the dead stock or refurbished. Better to purchase new motherboard/cpu/memory

Hi I have a mother board EP-4T2A3 and it supports

Hi,

This EP-4T2A3 is unique, that the can only utilize the slightly more expensive RDRAM memory modules. Furthermore, because of the dual memory controllers in the i850 chip-set, all motherboards based off of this chip-set must also have its RDRAM installed in pairs. You can purchase RAMBUS chips of PC600 to PC800 memory modules. You have 4 RIMM slots, and they must be installed in pairs, or you will get speeds of only a single module. The unfortunate part is that the RDRAM modules are a little more pricey. You can find some samples of these HERE.

Good Luck

Motherboard memory chips gone bad

It begs the question how you know the memory chips have failed - to you mean the RAM or do you mean something else.
If it is the RAM - these are plug in DDR 266 (PC2100) modules which can be purchased from any good PC retailer and installed yourself (ensure power is disconected for inserting) the board supports a maiximum of 2gb (2*1gb dimms).
if it is not the RAM, then what OS (Operation system) does you laser etching program run on - it may be easier to replace the motherboard with a different type (try to match chipsets yours is a VIA P4M266A see link for more motherboard details

EPoX 8KDA J ABENDS after recognizing memory.

try checking if its conencted properly. have you tried using a different RAM on it? if the different RAM chip worked then your DIMM is broken, if not still, it must be your motherboard that has the problem.
