Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

HI, I am having problems with my gaming controller. On my old PS3, I had the option of changing my controller users. Now, I can not do that on the new PS3. My problem is that I am always stuck on player 4, so none of my games will work with the controller.

Please help I just updated my PS3 to the new 4,50 update but now non of my games work :-( I cant even turn the thing off with out pulling out the plug

4.5 firmware for ps3 currently will not allow users to shut down unless you use your controller. They removed the option to shutdown the console using the power button due to new hacks that allow you to glitch the system an jailbreak your ps3! It's not a problem it's sonys way of keeping hackers out of their system.

Hi all, never experienced this problem before and didn't come across it anywhere. so when i turn my ps3 on it starts up with the ps3 logo screen and then goes onto the background scenario and thats...

Not really an idea, but a theory. It sounds like your system can not load the user interface, and beyond trying a different hard drive, this is beyond my experience to fix. I suggest checking some message boards and perhaps calling Sony. Keep me informed on what you find, as I will be looking as well.

I have the80022D11 in the ps3 what to do

Once this occurs, trying to load a save file for a game that supports trophies will give you the option to either start over (wipe the save file) or sync trophies (which fails). At this point trophies will no longer work and save game files for any game that supports trophies will no longer load. The only work around at this point is to delete your PS3 user account (not to be confused with your PSN user account) and create a new one (which you can link to your existing PSN account). Once this is done your trophies will sync, but you will lose all your saved games. If you try to restore any saved games you made before doing this, the error will occur again. The problem appears to be triggered if the user changes his/her email address or password using the XMB account management tools. So until Sony fixes this problem, users should not change their PSN email address or password.

1. Plug in controller
2. Have system in standby mode (red light)
3. Hold down power button for a full cycle (will turn on and back off again)
4. Hold power button again will hear 2 single beeps then a double beep.
5. As soon as you hear the double beep immediately remove your finger from the power button.
6. Hit the PS button on controller when it tells you to
7. Go to ONLY option 3 (restore)
8. WARNING: select any other option and you can wipe out everything ONLY USE OPTION 3
9. Follow on screen prompts

Try this and get back with me, I will look into it for you.

Starting up Problems

I found it 2 min. ago. Ok here: while your ps3 is on hold the power button on the ps3 for you will hear one beep, keep holding it then when you hear the second beep take your finger off. Your ps3 should turn off. Now push the power button while holding your finger on it again, you will hear two single beeps, then a double beep, let your finger ago and a screen should appear with six options. Chose something like reset(or restore) file data or something like that and click yes, this wont do anything to your game/music/movie/etc. files but now your ps3 shall work.

Online user change

Hello. You need to go to System Settings, then Format PS3. All you need to do is a quick format and it will erase all of the past users info and then you can customize the system for yourself. Thanks!!

You can log in as a new user but im not sure if you'll have admin control of the system, might do though. failing that you could reformat the hard drive but you'll lose all your saved data, music, game saves etc

Ps2 on ps3 game problems

I also had this problem running PS2 games. I noticed that when it happened, my bluetooth remotes becames unpaired and could no longer be used to turn the PS3 on/off. Pressing the PS button would not interrupt the hung PS2 game (i.e., it would not give me the options to quit the game, turn the system/controller off, etc.). I talked with the Sony Playstation folks and they suggested resetting the bluetooth controllers (by poking the hole on the backside next to the screw hole). They said sometimes the bluetooth info gets honked. Just before this problem popped up, I was messing around with pairing a bluetooth headset and may have interrupted the pairing. You may have a similar situation, so try resetting your controllers. You may have to plug into the USB port if they won't re-pair after resetting (I did). Good luck!
