Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Clp 310 laser printer can not seem to properly grab the paper from the tray and causes paper jam error. There is a small spring loaded platform at the top end of the paper tray that seems to push the paper upward. This device is not always being activated by the white release tabs all the time when tray is loaded, so that only one side or the other will release. When this happens there is a very low thunking sound that repeats just before the paper jam error. And off and on I get a printed error that reads SPL-C - False Position : 0xb1ab7d (116437773) System : src/xl-tbl line : 413 version spl-c 5.35

I have the same problem with the CLP-310. The message says jam inside the printer. Some times I can just wiggle the paper tray while it is inserted in the machine. I have checked and the two small white release mechanisms that allow the spring loaded tray to pop up once the tray is inserted are working properly. I seem to have more of a problem when I use a heavier or thicker paper. Other than the occasional jaming the printer prints really great quality. I'm not ready to give up on this printer just quite yet.

The pickup roller is loaded with paper dust. You can try cleaning it with alcohol and a swab, but to clean all the rollers in the paper path, get some cleaning sheets from an office supply store. They are sticky on both sides. Run it through a couple of times.

SOURCE: CLP-510 SPL-C Error message

SPL stands for "Samsung Printer Language". You are using an USB cable that is either too long (above 6 ft.) or too thin (cheap cables).

The reason why the test page prints is because it is a very simple and small page (thinking on kbyte terms). But larger streams of data do not arrive correctly due to attenuation and the error page prints instead.

If it is absolutely necessary to connect beyong 6 ft, you need either a good quality USB cable (try the Belkin brand found at OfficeMax), or connect using a parallel cable.

SOURCE: SPL-C ERROR - Incomplete Session

The problem is either the usb port where the printer is connected or the usb cable itself.atleast the speed of the usb should be 2.0.

241 paper jam message

Lexmark T630 241 paper jam message - Indicates a paper jam from the pull down manual feed tray.

If you check to make sure and small fragments of paper are not hindering the operation of the switch. The switch is located on the left side of the tray and will be spring loaded. The switch should move freely without binding. Make sure no toner or dust is on the optical sensor assembly. See Diagram for location.

If the switch seems OK and the printer still reports an error, the printer will require professional care.

CLP-310. paper jammed and it can't be removed. Can the roller be removed to get the paper out? that's the only way the jammed paper is going to come out.

I would recommend that you take it to a authorized printer repair shop and have them remove the paper. Printers have sensors that if not properly installed upon servicing the machine it will give error codes and stop the unit from printing.
When I have paper jams on my printers I always pull the paper from the discharge side to prvent any sensors being bent or broken. Good Luck!!!

Samsung clp 310 printer regularly jams

Go to YouTube and watch this video: 5fJHykzkfww

I will try to add the video to this post. The sensor is available on eBay for around $8 to $12 and it takes only about 15 minutes to fix the printer.

Clp 300 won't feed paper

Remove the paper tray. Gently pull the sides apart at the front end of the tray, to release the spring-loaded ramp which pushes the leading edge of the paper upwards.

Underneath this ramp are two compression springs approximately 1/2" in diameter and 2" long (above, left). The problem with the paper feed appears to be that these springs very quickly get fatigued and fail to exert enough pressure to push the tray upwards. Replace the long, thin springs with a more compact pair, with better compression, like one of the pairs on the right. I am still experimenting to find the ideal size, but this has definitely helped. Our local Ace Hardware store has a fairly good selection of compression springs. Home Depot had nothing remotely suitable.

You may find that an extra pair of hands and a pair of long-nosed pliers make the job easier when you are trying to keep the springs in position as you replace the ramp in the tray.

Samsung CLP-315 paper tray position

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your printer. The tray is recessed during packing to reduce packing space for shipping. When you pull out your paper tray for use for the first time it expands to accommodate the paper. It can be collapsed by pushing the little blue tabs that say press here to make it flush again but you would only need to do this if you were using a non standard paper size.

Paper jam

I too have this infuriating problem and the reason has already been pinpointed very well it is indeed the front rubber pinch cam not grabbing the paper well. I have approached this problem from another angle... under the front sprung loaded flap on the paper tray
there are two compression springsapprx 1/2" in dia. Gently prise apart the 2 flap pivot (on the extended arms) to gain access to the springs ,pull out the springs and either replace them with slightly stronger ones or pull the existing springs apart to retension them and pop them back (long-nosed pliers or tweezers) this will restore the spring tension lost during use with the rubber pinch cam.

Printer Jam

Its probably stuck wrapped around the fuser.

It WAS glossy Laser paper and NOT glossy Inkjet paper wasn't it ??

Glossy Inkjet paper could cause a proplem like this, as inkjet paper just isnt made to stand the temperature of a fuser (the fuser cover reaches a temp of just under 180 Celcius) and it melts !!!

Dell Laser MPF 1600n WON'T PRINT

Two causes:

1. Worn out roller
<or>
2. Spring-loaded tray not engaging when placed into printer

1. The roller will try to "grab" the paper when the job starts. If it becomes too worn, it will slip and not grab anything. One fix is to apply a small amount of moisture to the u-shaped rubber roller.
Other option is to wrap a rubber band around it if you can.

2. Check to see if tray spring works properly. There is a small white knob on left side of tray. Push paper in tray down all the way until it clicks. Engage knob on side and paper should spring upwards. If this does not happen, the roller will not be able to engage the paper and it will simply click as it tries in vain.
