You need to clean the drain hose .
4 blinks indicate you have problem in drainage .
Drain lines will be clogged with dirts . So cleaning will solve your problem .

Unplug the machine from the wall socket or turn the power off to the sockets. At the very bottom front of the machine is a cover held on by 4 torx screws, take this off. You'll see the white sump of the machine and the ntc sticking out of it. It has two thin blue wires going to it. It twist and pulls out. Replacement is push in and twist.
To get a replacement take the first of the two 12 digit numbers printed on the label, right hand side of the door.

or
Few things cause this, it's basically a water problem.
Take the left hand panel off, at the bottom of the plastic tank is two wire connector, pull it off, push it back on and try the machine.
If the problem persists the next thing to check is the pressure switch, take out the filter screen and you'll see the black grid in the sump of the machine, clean it out carefully, if you burst the membrane it's useless.
Try it again. If it still doesn't work, check the water hose isn't kinked.

Unplug the machine from main power outlet then after few minutes just press the ON button and connect the wire to the outlet and check out.

Start unplugging the appliance for ten minutes to see if this clear the error.

4 blinks is a drainage problem.

Clean the drain hose, and the drain lines while the appliance is unplugged, this usually solve the problem.

If you still get the problem, the drain pump may be clogged with dirt, and must be accessed and cleaned.

For this fault it is better to call a technician.

Usually cleaning the drain hose fixes the 4 blinks.

There is also a reset procedure to clear the blinking light in case this is a jammed control panel, in that case follow instructions here: Blinking Clean Light on Kenmore & Whirlpool Dishwashers

    Clean drain hose first.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.
Usually this symptom also shows an F7 error code. You will need to remove the lower wash arm (NOTE INSTALLED POSITION) Also you will need to remove the metal grate under the wash arm tower. Inside there is a glass tube that senses debris. Clean out the sump area and wipe the glass tube clean. Reinstall everything exactly as your removed it. The installation of the lower wash arm can be fussy.
While your cleaning things also check the entire drain hose from the sump to the sink connection for kinks or obstructions. If you have an Air-Gap remove the cover, (Note again the installed position of the air gap upper plastic cap that has an internal U shaped water passage) unscrew the plastic nut in the top and check for debris inside the air gap water passage. At the sink connection be it a plumbing connection or a garbage disposal connection make sure the drain port is clear. This should stop the repeated start button routine.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
