The first time you connect a device that plugs into a universal serial bus (USB) port, Windows automatically installs a driver for that device. After a driver is installed, you can disconnect and reconnect the device without performing any additional steps.
Before you install your device Check the instructions included with the device to determine whether a driver should be installed before you connect the device. Typically, Windows detects a new device after you connect it, and then installs the driver automatically. However, some devices require you to install the driver before plugging the device in.
Also, while most devices that have power switches should be turned on before you connect them, others require that you turn them on during the installation process. Because of issues like this, it's a good idea to read the instructions included with a new device before you connect it.
If the instructions that came with your device contradict the information in this topic, follow the instructions that came with the device.
Plugging your device in If your USB device1.gif uses a power cord, you should connect the device to a power source and turn it on before connecting it.
Next, determine which USB port you want to connect your device to. If your computer has USB ports1.gif on the front, consider using one of those if you plan to frequently connect and disconnect the device.

YOU MUST NOW " SYNC" YOUR DEVICE WITH MEDIA PLAYER THIS IS HOW TO DO IT.

Set up a device to sync in Windows Media Player You can use Windows Media Player to copy music, videos, and pictures from your Player library to a portable device, such as a compatible MP3 player. This process is called synchronization or syncing.
There are two methods for syncing items to a device: automatically or manually. When you connect a device to your computer for the first time, Windows Media Player selects the sync method that works best for your device, depending on the device's storage capacity1.gif and the size of your Player library. After your device is set up the first time, you can choose a different sync method if you want.

  1. Start the Player, turn on your device, and then connect it to your computer. If prompted, select the AutoPlay option to sync the device using Windows Media Player.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the Player has selected to sync your device automatically, click Finish. When you do so, the Player will sync your entire library to your device. After that, your device will automatically sync every time you connect it to your computer while Windows Media Player is running.
    • If the Player has selected to sync your device manually, click Finish. Then, in the Sync tab, you can select the files and playlists you want to sync manually. For more information, see Sync manually in Windows Media Player.

When I plug in my mp3, i cant sync because wmp doesnt recognize the mp3 at all. I was trying to find software or driver download to help fix. please help!

Hi, Looking for Drivers.

In order to download the right driver for a Coby MP3 player, you'll need to go to the Coby website support page where you can download software drivers (See Resources). To find the driver you need, you first need to identify which device you're using. Select "MP3 & Portable" under where it says "Select a Product" on the first box on the left. In the second box, it will be "MP3 & MP4 players." The final box lists all of the MP3 and MP4 players that Coby produces. You'll need to find your MP3 player in this list. The designation will be letters and number such as "Mp200". It should be listed on the box. Once your MP3 player is selected, clicking on the "Submit" button at the bottom will cause the text "Available Downloads for Mp200" (or whatever your MP3 player is called) to appear towards the bottom of the screen. Underneath, there should be a link for "Driver," if there is one available for your player. Clicking on that will allow you to download it.

Installation

If you click "OK" on the download screen, your driver should install. It will likely be in a ".zip" format, which means another program is needed to "unzip" the file so that you can install it. An example of such a program is WinRAR (See Resources). This program needs to be installed first, before it can be used to unzip your driver file. After you've downloaded the program, opening the installation file will begin the installation process. Choose a directory for where the program will be installed. After installation is complete, you can go back to the ".zip" driver file. Double-clicking on the file will bring up a new window. You can now drag your driver files from inside the .zip folder to any folder on your computer that you wish. There will be a file marked "Setup" among the unzipped folders. Opening this file should allow you to install the drivers you need on your computer.

Also Coby mp3 player not recognized by the computer.

Why is my Coby player not being detected by my computer when I connect it?

This may be caused by one of the following:
1. Minimum system requirements were not met.
2. Corrupted drivers.
3. Computer restrictions.
4. Power issue.

To resolve this issue, try the following solutions:

SOLUTION 1 - For brand new player or first time connecting to this computer.

For Windows XP users: verify the following operating system requirements are met.
- Windows XP SP2 or higher
- Windows Media Player 10 or higher

Download and install the latest Windows Media Player if it's not installed.

For Windows Vista users: If the player is seen in My Computer when using MTP mode, but not showing in Windows Media Player.
- Download the hotfix from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211.
- Run the hotfix.

For MAC users, see player not recognized by a MAC OS

NOTE: If you are trying to connect to a Computer at work that is part of a network, there may be user right restrictions that are set to disable access to new hardware or stop any program installations. You may need to check with your IT administrator to see if this is causing the problem.

SOLUTION 2 - Refresh the driver

STEP 1 - Connect the Coby mp3 player to the PC
The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full.
- If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is readily available. Ensure you are connecting directly to the computer USB port and not to a USB hub.
- If there is nothing showing on the screen and the player does show up in as a storage device in an explorer window, then the screen is just not working.

If you receive the error "USB Device Not Recognized" on the computer, the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

Image
.

STEP 2 - Check under Device Manager
1. Right-click My Computer, and select Manage.
Image
2. Click Device Manager on the left pane.
Image

NOTE: Coby mp3 player can connect to your computer in MSC or MTP mode. Exceptions are Coby mp3 player Connect and Coby mp3 player Express which only use MTP mode. MTP mode is the recommended and default method for Coby Players when used with Windows OS.

The Coby player will show up on Device Manager's right pane as:
1. USB Mass Storage device (if the player is set to MSC)
2. Portable Device (if the player is set to MTP mode)

If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) beside the device, try to refresh the drivers.

STEP 3 - Refresh the drivers
1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
2. On the top menu, click Action then select Scan for hardware changes.

NOTE: If a device with yellow exclamation point (!) continually appears and disappears, then the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

Hope that helped..

Has no instructions on how to upload music from pc

Hi,Ok, so, if you buy your mp3 players from the store or online and the device is brand new, you must have a box. Where is your new player, of course and some other important things. Those things are:
Installation CD, USB cable, earphones, recharger and maybe one or two more extras.
Installation CD - this is important, because its necessary for connection between MP3 player and Computer. This CD will help your Operating System to recognize the device. If you have Windows 2003 and above, maybe there is no need to install anything, but you still must have a CD in the box - in any case. For Example, Windows XP in 90% of cases will recognize your player automatically, when you have connected it with USB cable. This CD is also known as Driver CD or User Manual CD.
You must turn on your mp3 player and plug the cable with it. Then plug the other jack in to the computer. Now your device is connected to your PC. Now, if Windows recognizes the player automatically, messages will appear, like - "New Hardware Device Found" and "Hardware Installed and Ready to Use". In this case, when your mp3 player is installed, go to My Computer and look for the new icon, called "Removable Storage Device", or the icon may also be named with the name of you player. For Example: SciFlux Mp3 Player Device or something like that.
If windows cant recognize your player, then you must to use the Driver CD. Put it in the CD or DVD Drive. Usually this CD`s are with "autorun" feature. Just wait, do nothing and after few seconds the installing application will appear. Look at the possibilities. You must see something like "Install" or "Install Drivers" or something different, but very similar to "Install" or "Drivers". Follow the setup. Usually this process is short and easy, all you have to do is to click "Next" and "Finish" on the end. When you do this ... your player is now installed. And again - go to My Computer and look for the new icon - this is your mp3 player.
So, you have installed you mp3 player already. Your Player Storage device will be located in My Computer, like I say before. All you have to do now is to click on it twice. When the digital player is brand new, there will be nothing - empty. So, go to your hard drives, locate your music files. When you choose the music files you like to upload to the mp3 player, just copy them. Select -> Copy. Then go to Your mp3 player icon in My Computer ( the new icon, remember?), double click it ... and PASTE. Wait the copying process to complete and you are done. Now, switch OFF the USB cable and enjoy your music.
So, its ease, right?

Have a nice day.

I accidently reset my vibe and it wont play or show anything except the gogearvibe deal?

Ok, in this case you can format the player. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents. Here is how to format:

Connect your player to PC. On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

If that doesn't work, repair it with Songbird or Device manager. Whichever application your player uses.

For Songbird:
Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair my Philips GoGear" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.

For Device manager:
Launch Device Manager and click the Tool menu and select "Repair my Philips GoGear", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process.

You player should work correctly now. Hope this helps.

Won't recognse my player.

· Make sure you have media player 11
· If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
· Download recovery tool off creative's website.
· go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

A problem with turning on . . .

This firmware upgrade only works with Creative MuVo Micro N200 players. Do not install this upgrade to other players.
You will lose all content in your player when you install the firmware. Back up any audio or data files in your player to your computer before upgrading the firmware.
Before installing the firmware, please complete the following procedures:
  1. Download the latest device driver if you have not installed any drivers for your player. The file name is MStorage_PCDRV_LB_1_07_00_250.exe.
  2. Connect your player to your PC.
  3. Close all active applications (for example, Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, or Windows Media Player etc), as well as background applications such as Norton anti-virus applications.
  4. Double click on the file MStorage_PCDRV_LB_1_07_00_250 to install it. Follow the instructions on the screen.
To install the firmware for your player, follow the procedures below:
  1. Download the firmware update, MuVoN200_PCFW_LF_1_20_04.exe to your hard drive.
  2. Connect your player to your PC if it is not already connected.
  3. Double click the firmware upgrade file.
  4. When prompted to set your player in Recovery mode, disconnect your player from your PC.
  5. Remove the battery from the player, press and hold the Play button while connecting the player to the USB port.
  6. Continue to hold the Play button for about 10 seconds after your player is connected to the USB port.
  7. When the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on your PC screen, release the Play button.
  8. If this is the first time a player is installed as Player Recovery Device, Windows will find a Player Recovery Device (or USB Device), and prompt you for drivers. Click on No , and select Do not search. I will choose the driver to install. Windows will install the necessary drivers automatically.
  9. Double click on the downloaded firmware again (MuVoN200_PCFW_LF_1_20_04.exe) to update the player's firmware.
  10. During the firmware update process, make sure to check the box next to Format Data Area under Download options.
