Are you sure you have a Danby Humidifier and not a Dehumidifier? As Danby doesn't make humidifiers. At least, not in the US and Canada.
Please advise. Thanks

You may be able to use filters from the stove overhead filters.Stove suppliers sell filters which can be cut to size.
The filters are usually the same as those used for air conditioners.

Will not **** up water seems to be air coming out from the side with a tiny bit of sprinkles

From what you have described, according to the Owner's Manual for your "Retired" (that's Danby speak for "Discontinued") model, the air intake filter needs to be cleaned. As not enough air is being taken in, so the fan can operate properly.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you may download and print for future reference. http://www.danby.com/cms/uploads/products/en_manual/DHCC6020%20EFOM.pdf

I hope this has helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have one of these and I have no clue how it works, sometimes the water reserve catches water.. does that mean its dehumidifying? What are some of the settings I should put it on?

Yes, that means it's working, Basically, the lower the humidity setting, the more moisture it removes from the household air. The higher the setting, the less it will remove and run less, too. Once the water reservoir or "bucket" as most folks call it, is full the unit will shut off automatically and the bucket FULL light will come on. You will need to remove the bucket from the front of the unit and empty it (I prefer emptying it in the bath tub or shower). Then carefully replace it the unit, so that it triggers the safety switch and the FULL light goes out and the unit will restart automatically, if necessary.

You didn't list the model number of your Danby Dehumidifier. But all Danby units work pretty much the same. To help you further I have included a link to the Owners Manual for the Danby DDR25E (this also covers 2 other models) that you can download and print for future reference. Read it thoroughly and become familiar with it's operation and the required Routine Maintenance.

I got E4 error message, and my tank is empty. The humidity value blink too... What can be the problem?

There is some type of electrical component that needs to be replaced called a relay switch. I had the exact problem and it was only a little over a year old. I am not impressed with the appliance for the price i paid for it. I went and bought the cheapest dehumidifier I could find and it works great. You can bypass this problem on your home comfort system by attaching the hose that came with it to the back and the machine will work the water will drain out of it. I

Does not dehumidify

Hello. I am here to help. Let me begin by saying that a dehumidifier only needs to be operated if the humidity in your home is too high. If the humidity is low, the humidifier will have to work really hard to try and remove water from it.

Here is an overview of how the dehumidifier is supposed to work:

When the unit runs, the circulating fan and compressor also run. The fan continually draws room air over the evaporator coils, which are cold, and then over the condenser coils, which are warm. Because the evaporator coils are cold, the moisture in the room collects on them--just as the outside of a glass of icy liquid "sweats" on a warm, humid day. When the moisture on the coils increases, it drips off of the coils into the collection container.

The air then flows over the warm condenser coils and out into the room. This process removes water from the air and, because of the heat from the fan motor and compressor motor, the exiting air is somewhat warmer, as well as dryer.
