Ran the wrong clear overhead material through printer

Teacher friend of mine handed me this printer and told me, there are 2 types of clear overhead sheets, one you write on and the other you print on, she mixed them up and ran the one you write on, she said it will melt in the heat of the laser printer. Is it fixable??? if it can how do you get through the case defences?? signed: Mr usually I can fix anything

It gave me the confidence to tear it apart and remove all the melted film from around the roll. It may run again!!!! It was just stuck, the melted plastic film cooled and jammed between the rollers. Thanks

You'll have to replace the fuser roller as you probably welded the plastic to it. Try this procedure:
Fuser Assembly Removal
1. Tilt the printer carefully to the rear so it is resting on the ASF.
2. Remove the four bottom cover screws.
3. Disconnect J7 (THM) from engine card.
4. Reattach bottom cover and set printer upright.
5. Remove charge roll assembly. See “Charge Roll Assembly
Removal” on page 4-6 for more information.
6. Remove the two fuser mounting screws.
7. Disconnect the fuser wires.
8. Release the tabs on each end of fuser assembly and lift out.

Paper jams and won't feed straight

Hi,

Sometimes when the printers jam up, is because they have a small piece of paper or something stuck in it's path. Try

1. Power the printer off.

2. Open the paper support and confirm that there is not any foreign material in the auto sheet feeder. If there is any foreign material, remove it by hand or with tweezers.
3. Open the front cover and confirm that there is not any foreign material in the printer. If there is any foreign material, remove it by hand or with tweezers.

Power the printer on and confirm that the printer operate normally.

Those are the only two places that something would be stuck

Good Luck

Error message: Incorrect Printer cartridge, when

the printer scan whatever been placed for it, so if you place a color it will read color and so on…now the printer read that the b lack cartridge is wrong according to your investigations, then the issue is between the ink cartridge and the printer scanner, so take out the black ink cartridge and do the followings, remove any type of materials that may cover the ink tank and make sure that he vent hole is clear, put the ink back after doing the same to the color and cleaning the inside housing, then use the software for self cleaning and alignment..

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.
it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You're on the right track - I found the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100 (or E-2-2 on the LCD display) Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corrosponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on) Hope this helps some of you out.Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

HP Deskjet 820 Cse will not load paper

I have fixed this problem by cleaning the three large paper feed rollers. You can get at them by removing the paper tray.

HP told me many years ago that, over time, additives used in the rubber material that makes up the rollers moves to the surface and makes the roller slippery so that it does not drag the paper forward.

I clean mine by rubbing the surface with a rag soaked in methylated spirits (a type of denatured alcohol). A fiddle of a task but it works.

Paper is repeatedly jamming, won't print

Dear friends,
This problem caused by any other material (such as broken paper) are present in paper path blocking paper from being fed and reaches paper sensor. Please check paper source area carefully. I have met this problem so many times. Remove the material. Printer will normally work if paper sensor not broken.

Paper light keeps blinking red

Pull out the drum. There is a blue button on it - if you pull it out and look straight down at it, it should be on the right hand side towards the printer. Slide the blue button back and forth, left to right, 20 times or so. Make sure to position it back to the right side all the way when done and put it back in. It should fix it. It is some kind of wire that is dirty with paper dust, etc. Brother told me to do that very thing when mine was having the same problem. Now, if that doesn't work, I also use the dust remover canned air and spray inside where the drum fits.

Hope it helps.
