How about a little more information? Does the projector turn on? has it ever worked? What type of interface (VGA, DVI, HDMI, RCA) What type of computer (notebook or desktop)
That being said, double check your cable connections and make sure you tell your computer to look for the projector (Dell laptops used to use FN+F8 to switch from laptop to projector). Windows 7 has a menu choice "Connect to Projector". Mac computers - check system preferences and make sure the projector is ON before you plug it into the Mac.
computer should always be connected with 15 pin VGA to DVI-I cable.
Select in menu input 1 analog RGB and adjust output resolution of Dell to 1024 x 768. this should work !
USB is only for mouse control with pj remote
1)Plug in either the vga or dvi into both the projector and the laptop. 2)Plug in the power cord to the projector, then turn the projector on. 3)Once it has past its warm-up period, find the function key on your laptop.(Fn) 4)Along the F1,F2,F3 ect keys, press find the one with the picture of the display. 5)When you have found it,hold down Fn and press the display key down until it clones the laptop and projector.
The plugs on this model projector is very delicate, over time the solder around the plug will begin to crack. Until eventually the connection is lost. Another possibility is that the power supply has gone bad. Using another cord would not cause this. I can fix the projector if you'd like. My ebay screenname is gtitubro.
check that you have a signal going out of the monitor socket on your lalptop.
On Dell with projector connected and switched on, press the blue fn button bottom left usually, and while holding, press one marked CRT/LCD, (maybe f8) this will cycle to the following.
laptop only, laptop and monitor, monitor only, while holding Fn button press until you have desired outcome.
This model projector is very sensitive to internal heat. I f by some reason the projector was abruptly powered down without the use of its normal procedure, in other words, unpluging cord from wall while on or power outage in premises, then the heat remains trapped and the sensors overheat and subsequently shuts down the unit. Now, although, once the sensors cool down it should reinstate operation some sensors become permanently damaged due to the extreme heat. In this case without having more facts, i believe it is the cause. I recommend a free check up to your nearest shop, most shops will offer free check ups.
