    Dear Ladywinn,

I do not understand the first part of your soultion "Reset lamp timer plug in set and it will go into stand-by-mode"

do I not turn the tv on?

do i need a special remote or will the stock one work? thanks!

  • mjpalm Dec 09, 2008

Thanks LadyWinn but I am doing something wrong.

    1. I installed the new lamp bulb.

    2. I plugged in my Zenith D52WLCD. Only the Red Light is on (the tv power is off)

    3. I pressed and released the ? button.

    4. I pressed and released 9,8,7,6 and then pressed released Enter (i do not have an OK button)

    5. None of the 3 lights flashed, and the tv still powers off as if the timer has not been reset...

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks!!!!

the fan and the tv comes on for approximately 1 minute, then shuts off. then, the red lamp light flashes which supposedly indicates that the lamp is bad and that the timer must be reset.

was I following your procedure to reset correctly of a zenith d52wlcd?

    thanks

  • mjpalm Dec 10, 2008

the fan runs, but the tv shuts off because the lamp timer needs to be reset - tv shuts off, and lamp indicator light flashes.

was I correctly following your procedure to reset the lamp of a zenith d52wlcd?

  • mjpalm Dec 10, 2008

    Just to clarify my problem:

I turn the set on. It runs perfeclty for about a minute. It then shuts off. The Lamp Indicator Light flashes red - which is supposed to mean the bulb needs replacement and the timer needs reset. I replaced the bulb, but cant get the timer to reset.

thank you for all your help and please advise.

Pull back off watch to see if fan stops running ,if it runs for awhile then stops it is bad.

Fan must keep running in order for set to turn on and for lamp to work and come on itself.

To reset the lamp timer, hold the "enter" button on the tv and the "mute" button on the remote at the same time. Once the menu pops up, hit the right arrow on the remote and confirm the reset.

I would guess that's it's a little too late for this answer now, but for future reference... ;-)

Zenith d52wlcd

Yes it can definately be reset with the service remote, all the newer models will reset with the mute and enter simultaneous buttons. I would try to call a local service center and see if they have the remote and how much they'd charge to come reset it. I know we charge a lot to come out, but if you brought the tv in (i know not the prefered method) we would just quick reset it for free. The mute + enter lamp reset is in no service manuals or training guides so I'm not positive it will work but I'd try it a few more times because I'm pretty sure it works on the wlcd models.

Rest lamp timer zenith

Hold mute on the remote and enter on the front panel of the tv simultaneously for 5 seconds. Make sure the remote is getting signal to the TV. This works on newer model zenith and lg digital projections.

ZENITH D52WLCD

I just found the solution on another model of Zenith TV. Hold the enter button down on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote. In approx. 5-7 seconds a screen will pop up asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Hit the bullseye button in the middle of the arrows and it will reset. Worked perfectly.

How do I reset the replace lamp message

found this on Justanswer.com and worked perfectly for me

1- Press and hold the MENU button on the TV.
2- Press and hold the MENU button on your REMOTE (hold both these until the service menu pops up 5-10 secs max).
3 - Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV.
4- Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV.
5- Press and hold the MUTE button on the REMOTE (hold both until the LAMP LIFE HOURS appears on the screen).
6- Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV.
7- To reset the lamp counter, press SELECT (or the button in the middle of the direction arrow buttons). Hit SELECT a second time to confirm clearing the lamp counter.

The problem is that it require the screen to work. That mean that the timer by itself probably can't keep the TV from powering up. I would verify how the lamp was installed (perhaps retrying the previous lamp).

Does any led flashing with a pattern in time occur when you try to power it on?

About the "?" button, i don't see that on the remote.
