I have encountered a similar problem. The following lights were flashing on and off:

  • On/Off.
  • Reduced creases.
  • Mini Load.
I also found that previously one of the 'lifters' inside the drum had broken off and someone had tried to put it back in place and continued to use the washing machine. After a short period of time the above mentioned flashing lights began.

I first suspected the pump, but this was fine. I then disconnected the hose which connects the hole from the drum to the pump and I found a child's sock blocking the hose. I removed the obstruction, put it back together and the machine worked perfectly. I also replaced the lifter (apparently these break quite often) and the machine has been working perfectly ever since that day.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

The sequence of flashing lights is in fact indicating an error condition on your m/c.
It indicates that the m/c has failed to drain, possibly because the pump filter is blocked.
Your m/c is fitted with a filter system for the pump,
The filter may have become blocked, see care and maintenance in your handbook, in your handbook for details on how to check and clean the filter.
Also make sure the door is shut properly.
If after you have checked all these points, and it still does not work properly, then I suggest you have someone to look at the m/c, or replace the pump if it does not appear to be working.
Hope this helps.
Please leave feedback.

I am trying to change my water pump and the thing wont come off how do you take it off

Make sure all the bolts are out then lightly tap with a hammer heres a picture of the waterpump make sure all labeled bolts are out then tap with hammer to remove, mark the location of the pump so you wont have to keep spinning it to line up the bolt holes, i marked the top of the pump, you will see that the lip is bigger than the other two that one points at 11 oclock, hope this is helpful.johnjohn2_27.jpg

Hotpoint wf541 will not finish cycle it wont do a final spin then all the ligts start to flash how can this be fixed

Possibly a blocked filter.
If no filter at bottom front of washer then you need to remove lower rear cover of washer.
Remove l;arge black hose fastened to drum.
Remve and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstuction or blockage here as well, and look inside the pump.
If all o/k, and it still does not spin, then it could be for one of several reasons.
Hope this helps solve your prob.

Same problem

Power it off at the mains for 60 mins and then rety. If it still does the same then call in a repair man as it is most likely thatthe main controller board is faulty and needs replacing.
