Sounds similar to my problem...how do I find Printer properties to check if the printout is set on draft mode please?

  • Kamiliada Dec 01, 2008

Now the quality of the printout is much better, The detailed instruction for trouble shooting is in- on-screen Canon manual guide .

I opened printers properties box then I used maintenance options.

Three options to be checkout. 1)the cartridge ink is near to empty.if this is the case  get your cartridge refilled or replace it with new. 2)the head unit in which the cartridges r installed.in that head the holes from where the ink comes out may be blocked so it needs cleaning manually by removing the head. 3)or the third option the printout is set on draft mode .if this is the case go to printer properties and change that draft setting to normal mode printing.

The black ink in my mp258 canon printer is blured how can i fix it

Try a few print head deep cleanings if that does not help then you could try soaking the print head in a shallow plate of hot distilled water. Soak the tip of the print head only in no more than 1/8th to 1/4 inch of water.

Hello,
one idea is that you rouined printhead with tap water and second idea is to buy new print head or printer.
Note: If you want to replace ink head, be sure to replace purge unit and ink absorber also.

I bought some cheap toner and noticed almost immediately streaking and missing lines. I replaced it with HP toner but now black won't print at all.

If your printouts are streaked or faded, missing black or other colors, have blurred or fuzzy text, or ink streaks or smears, or show other problems, please refer to the link below for troubleshooting steps for print quality issues.

Printer printing blured images and text. It looks as if the printer prints a line then about 1/8 to 1/16 if an inch it prints the same line again.

You need to run a new alignment on the machine, Assuming you have the software installed open up the hp help center and print an alignment page after that look at the numbers and letters and line up the marks by selecting the numbers closet to the perfect alignment that you can see after you have finished click on the front of the printers OK button.to finish they try printing a new page. If this does not help try updating your software at http://www.hp.com.

Printer output has shadows, blurring, streaks, lines, poor color

Seem like blocked hole(s) on the color print head...
Most likely if there is a deep clean option then do it (may need a few times to unblock a hole or never).
Also get the printer physically cleaned up if you can see dusts inside (vrtical lines on color bars).

Some lines are blurred, Some lines are printed larger, Some lines

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Lines of text are blurred or jagged

Hey, Matthew here. If you go in to the settings of the printer and then advancd, there should be a head alingment options- it will print out some pages with crooked and straight lines and ask you to pick ones to calibrate it. It is very easy and should only take 5mins. Hope this helps, Matt.
