Question about Toshiba SD M1712 Internal DVD Drive
This DVD-ROM is used in my KiSS DVD player. The problem is opening the tray. Sometimes it opens; other times it doesn't. Sometimes it opens a bit then suddenly the tray is withdrawn into the drive. It may be difficult to find another DVD ROM that fits properly into the player which I reslly like because it has an Ethernet port and plays DivX and XviD. Any ideas?

You may be out of luck As most toshiba drives are made by a differant division of toshiba then what the computers are and most of these drives come as a whole part and the computer divsion at Tosiba dosent even have the schematics for them as like I say they dont fix them they simply replace them as a part in whole. All differant drives will have the same pinout as the drives are interchangable. But before I spent alot of time experimenting I would make sure the drive works in a puter. Good Luck

Try first turning off the player and turn it back on and eject it using the eject button on the unit and also try to eject it using the remote.. IF still wont eject this can be a mechanical function on the ejecting part of the unit that you may need to open the unit and check for that..
Hope that helps.........
