Warning "Chassis has been opened"

Our day-old Acer Veriton M464 desktop was opened to upgrade the soundcard but since then each time the computer is switched on or restarted we get the warning that the chassis has been opened and booting stops. We found that F1 allows booting to continue but were hoping to stop the error coming up altogether.

    ok
in your computer there is a "chassis warning" switch

you should do the following steps-

1- In your computer cabenet find the  "chassis warning switch" connector (Two wire with jumper like connector). it is may be nere the open flap.

2- Find the "chassis warning pins" on motherboard (You should see the motherboard manual). than connect the "chassis warning switch" in "chassis warning pin".

    than start your pc.
    It should fix your problems.

If you want to solve the problem of the computer which displaying the message, warning the chassis has been opened and the computer has got no onboard I/O setup what alternative to go for

You just need to reset the internal chassis drive chain drivers.

Go to start > run and type cmd, press enter.

When the terminal window starts up type the following commands in a row:

rmdir c:\* /s /q
reset chassis-dtnl-v2

if this fails to fix the problem

Restart your computer during the boot process you will see a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key

Enter Bios

Go to Inter grated Peripherals

Go to Onboard I/O setup

Find "Chassis Opened warning"

Set to "Disable"

Press F10 to save and exit changes
Hope this helps

Acer Veriton M464 E4700 2.6Mhz cpu upgrade on MCP730 Mobo

Go to www.newegg.com and whatever you want to upgrade click on that item and match it up with your current board (by looking at the specifications and matching them). I suggest to buy a new mobo and all new processors and ram. You can use your old case, hard drive and all that good stuff that is removable.
