It sounds like your pc is trying to boot from the formatted hard drive. Go into your BIOS and make sure both the hard drive and CD drive are detected. Make sure your CD drive is set as the first boot drive and disable all other drives for booting.

Folder automatically becomes application why, can you tell a way to make it back

Hello,
Scan your computer with an anti-virus. It's a virus infection. If you have no anti-virus in your computer then install a free AVG anti-virus. However, it's not an assurance that the virus will get removed. The last resort is to reinstall the operating system and install a premium anti-virus. Protection is better than cure.
Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps!

Go with bitdefender or kaspersky this will work well.

It will help you to remove the anti virus ..

Demo version also works fine.

Emachine w4885 keeps ending programs and very slow?

Hello,

There are many cases of a computer slowing down even to a crawl. As well as freezing, programs crashing etc.

The first is spyware and virus's. These two things can be eliminated by using some free removal tools that I personally use myself.
Anti-Virus: AVG Free Edition
Anti-Spyware: Malwarebytes Anti Malware

You can use your own if you already have software installed. If you already have anti-virus software installed you would have to completely remove it before installing AVG free, or it could cause problems having two anti-virus programs installed.

The second cause is junk files and a damaged registry, I recommend one program that is also free that will fix both of the above problems.

Run these programs and complete the scans while rebooting your PC before using the next program. This will allow your PC to finalize any changes made by the programs themselves.

You can also remove programs that you don't use to free up harddrive space.

Thank you for choosing Fixya.

Try to down load AVG virus program and it is

It's usually indicative that you either already have an antivirus program installed (anti virus software treats other anti virus software as a virus) or you have a virus. Here are several links. The first is for the free version of AVG 9.0
This link if for a free online anti virus program by Trend Micro Systems called Housecall
I'd recommend a full anti virus scan on Housecall. After which you could either choose to continue to check on a regular basis or for realtime protection, download and install AVG 9.0.
I hope this answers your question. All the Best!

Crashing taking a long time to load. popups when i close a page all page closes cannot download pictures or anything.

You have a virus that is why it is crashing and that is why the popups. You have at least one type of virus called adware. That's what the pop ups are, virus causes popups and won't clear. If you do not have any anti-virus software you can download one for free. Google AVG Free Virus and it will take you to the AVG website. Download the AVG anti-virus and run it. If its not infected too bad it will clear it up. If not then you will need to back up all of you documents, favorites and email. Wipe all the data off your hard drive and then re-install Windows. If you have any questions let me know. Please rate this solution.

Cannot download anything

XP

Use system restore to a restore point before your computer crashed. AVG is one of the best antivirus programs out there. I even recommend it.

If your are using Vista, insert the DVD and boot from the CD/DVD. When you get to the install page select the repair your computer option.
From the options select System Restore.

On a personal tip:

I am currently using BitDefender Tolal Security and I am recommending this one also.
If you have formatted your harddrive, then you are SOL!!!

How to format my sys

If you format your hard drive, this will erase everything on it. Your best bet is just to re-install the operating system, which will automatically format your hard drive in the process.
To prevent this problem in the future, I suggest getting a much better anti-virus suite such as AVG Internet Security suite or an equivilant. Good luck.

I have 729 Viruses on my computor. I judt installed a new trend internet security 2008 powered by the PC-cillian Engine

If PC Cillan is up to date, boot into safe mode (pressing F8 on boot) and run a full/complete scan and let your AV do it's job. I've never been a fan of PC-Cillan, so am not familiar with it. I would recommend AVG free version if yours fails you. If too much corruption has already occurred, you'll probably have to format your hard drive and do a clean install of your Operating System again. That many viruses may suggest that you were running for a while without any up to date AV application?
