You need to use ati catylst control panel.

You can also download and use at tray tools.

There is a setting force tv detection. Sometimes this needs to be enabled to work properly. Also make sure3 that your desktop resolution is not too high for your television. I have a plasma tv so I can use 720 and 1080 p but my x1950 could only use a max of 1024x768 resolution.

I have 2 ati 4890 gfx cards and they have 2 6-pin power connectors on them. do i hook up 2 6-pins to them or 1 6+2pin to each?

Either way for as long as you can supply the 12v power to both gfx cards. You will not be able to use your gfx card if it isn't powered.

Sounds like its overheating. I would first start by making sure the card is clean and dust free. Also check all fans inside the computer. Add or replace fans as needed. You can even add a fan to the GFX card. http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/EP5128564.htm?utm_medium=productsearch&utm_source=google

Cant utilize extended monitor function in XP w/ onboard chipset as other VGA out

You cannot use both the onboard video and a separate card at the same time. Are you trying to use multiple monitors? Your video card must support that if you are, and the Radeon 7500 does not mention that it does. If it does, the ATI Catalyst drivers will have the option.

Stupid anoying grahics card problem

Ok, try this.  Uninstall the PCI gfx card drivers and remove the card.  Reboot.  Go to your Device Manager and disable the integrated card, do not worry about uninstalling it. Shutdown the PC, and then insert the PCI card. Also, make sure in the BIOS that you have integrated gfx disabled.  Then if you can boot with monitor plugged into the PCI card you should be able to reinstall the drivers for that card, and everything should work.  If not, please let me know.  Also, if you downloaded the drivers for the PCI card, try downloading them again as it's possible your download was corrupted.

Need a new slim, low power gfx card

Hello,

I would advise your friend to ugrade that PSU first. 450-500w at least. Depending upon your friends preference, both ATI and Nvidia offer decent cards for under 100 bucks. For the $200.00 he could upgrade both. Check out www.newegg.com. Thats where I buy all my stuff.

Good Luck!

BV300 For PCI Express bv300-angle.jpg Diamond BizView BV300 PCIe Different situations call for different solutions, and the BizView line of cards make it possible to turn workstations into multi-display work centers. Diamond created two versions of the card to suit two segments interested in multi-display configurations. The BV300 is a PCI Express version that utilizes the processing power of an ATI RV515 graphics core for "2D workstation applications like AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and GIS software."
The ATI RV515LE is the same graphics core used by Radeon X1300 series graphics cards. The core on the BizView BV300 runs at 450 MHz and is accompanied by a 128-bit memory bus and 256 MB of GDDR2, located on the board. The BV300 can be configured to use an additional 256 MB of HyperMemory by allocating 256 MB of system memory for graphics purposes.RICHARDM69
