Question about Garmin GPSMAP 76 GPS Receiver
That sounds strange. I wasn't aware that you could remove the basemap. Anyway, if you want to put the unit back to factory specs, as when you received it new, you may want to consider doing a Master Reset. Be aware that you will loose all user input - that means settings which you have entered, waypoints, routes, and tracks. Make sure you have noted your settings and backed up your data before doing the master reset. I don't know if it will restore a basemap or not, but it's for sure, it will restore everything else to "original". Again, I've never hear of loosing the basemap, are you sure it's gone? You might ought to call Garmin about that 1-800-800-1020.................good luck
