I SUGGEST YOU UNPLUG FROM MAINS WAIT 10 MINUTES PLUG IN SWITCH ON AND IMMEDIATLEY PRESS EJECT. IT MAY TAKE A FEW TRIES BUT IT USUALLY WORKS.

Why does dvd door keeps opening and closing on rca tv

UNplug the machine wait 10 secs plug back in
It might work unless sensors are dirty or shot
To much trouble to fix it, especially if it is incorporated in tv
Try blowiing a blast of air inside when door is open
good luck

DVD stuck on Panasonic DMR ES10 in eternal cycle of "self check"/"please wait"

My DMR ES10 was eternally in a "self check"/"please wait" cycle. Couldn't even turn it off normally. By pressing the "Power off" for 10 seconds it will turn off forcefully. Now, after it says "BYE" press the "CH UP" (on the recorder, NOT on the remote))+"STOP" (with the recorder turned off) for another 10 seconds. This will force the opening and we now can take the DVD off. Turn the DVD recorder ON and, if the problem is on the laser, because of dirt, etc it will work and we can now run a DVD cleaner. In this case, the machine was stuck just because the first thing it does is check the DVD inside, and because it can't and just keep trying, it will never do anything else, until we take the DVD off with it turned off.

Message on machine constantly says "please wait". It will not turn off unless unplugged.

This machine has problems with the power supply board that can cause a continuous please wait on system check or please wait triggered by trying to dub to DVD-R. The first problem is likely to occur with the older power supply boards and the DVD dub problem on the later boards. The bad capacitor problem was on the earlier power supply boards. The following link is to the solution for this http://www.fixya.com/support/t216825-dvd_recorder_frozen_please_wait_display The later power boards have a voltage regulator problem and the fix for this is at http://www.rbjtech.net/electrical/e85/e85.htm#0 You will notice from the photos that the early and later boards look different so it's easy to see which one you have. I replaced the voltage regulator in my machine and it now works like new.

Firmware update for Element Blu-ray player

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I couldn't solve the problem with these solutions. I tried a DVD, I tried 3 CD's burned from 2 different computers, I waited for 5 minutes, I waited for 5 hours. Nothing worked. So I used my work computer that is running XP and it worked perfectly. So if you are burning the disk from a vista computer I don't think it will work.

System Error

FYI...the best suggestion I've seen is to hold the channel up and play buttons simutaneously....thereby causing the machine to return to the "factory initialized" state. So far so good for me. We'll see. photog1

LG DR-4810 DVD Displays " PLEASE WAIT"

to open the tray during "please wait", remove casing then loosen front panel (clips either side and underneath). Power up to get "please wait", then press small microswitch in bottom right corner of the DVD player unit. Have you tried resetting the unit (turning on and holding the power button for at least 5-10 seconds)? Have you tried unplugging the unit for a longer period of time (24 hours)? get your firmware upgrade through here(sorry its in german, you might be able to get an english of it through the LG site) - http://www.lgupdate.de.ms/ two cd's- bootloader.iso , update.iso Good luck
