Recheck over your wires make sure that they are connected and have not come loose for any reason.

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsDetails.jsp?id=1477&product=010-00495-00&cID=205&pID=27855

there is the link to the newest firmware update for your unit I am not sure if it will help but it might it sounds more to me to be a install issue and should be fixable if you go over your wires and make sure they are all looking good and secure in their spots.

if you dont have the instructions please goto the following

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Support/Car_Entertainment_Owners_Manuals/#_

scroll down to find the model number you have.

hope this helps if anything else let me know and I will see what I can figure out. it could also be interferance with something as well. but once again unable to test further myself so you can do that try different things and see if anything helps clear it up. try different mounting locations antena positions ect.

You should go back to that place who installed it for you and ask them. I'm not an expert, just another poster with another problem.

KNA G510 update software and add POI file

They either installed it under a seat (easy) or behind the dash (hard). It's probably behind the dash, which means it's gotta be all taken apart. When they were installing the head unit they prolly just stuck it right behind it. So it's basically a pain in the ***. You'd be able to find it by following the wires from behind the unit. I have the same problem, I might just take it to the guy who installed it and have him do it. Call around to different stereo installers, they may charge you like 30-60 bucks to have it done... it's probably worth it considering the pain it is getting the whole dash apart and back together again.

Garmin's KNA-G510 won't find satellites unless I tell it I'm in another state and it expands satellite search

I have the g510 with a kenwood head unit. On the satellite screen, on the left it only shows one satellite and on the right it is showing that there are upwards of six or so satellites that it is receiving reception from. I thought it might be the antenna, so I bought a new one. Still having the same problem. It cannot find my location. I've updated the software, I don't know what to do!!

Navigation not working

Recheck your connections on the kna-g510 and ensure it is getting power, not too familar with the kvt-819, but I've got the kvt -915 and when I pull up the screen, there is an icon right by the src icon, that looks like a wrench. Press that and find A/V interface and ensure that the navigation input is set to RGB, also you can back out and go to user interface and ensure the Navigation is set to auto intstead of manual. That may be the case if it is similar to the kvt -915.

Kenwood KNA-G510 antenna?

After contacting Kenwood tech support several times, a tech finally came out and said if the unit is under warranty send it back to them and they will swap it since they do not repair it. If the Unit is out of warranty, then contact Garmin. When I contacted Garmin, the tech stated that Kenwood is pulling a fast one instead of standing behind their product. So who actually owns this product Kenwood or Garmin? Both names are on the product, but no one wants to repair it. Anyway to make a long story short there is a new update for this product 3.60 as of Feb 2008, downloaded and the unit works fine. Should resolve this issue.

Kenwood DV4100

Check the navigation setup and make sure the voice guidance is set to on. If it is, then the installer didn't catch the right wire for vss. Had the same problem, after getting my unit professionally installed, figured it was a problem with unit so I upgraded to the G510 and installed the DV4100 in my other vehicle myself, caught the right vss wire and now the unit works perfectly, displays turn by turn and gives voice guidance. Read previous solutions, they really help.
