You really don't need the lights your comp will work 100% the same way, but if there is only two spots missing then you plug them in there, it is usually the white wire on the left, and the green wire on the right with the words "power led" facing up towards the power supply

The correct wiring plan for this computer is as follows:

Pwr Led Pwr Sw N/C

X X X X O

HDD Rst N/C

Note : N/C = no connection, top row has no pin, bottom row has a pin but not connected.

when you plug in the Pwr Led and HDD connectors, a light should come on, if it doesn't , turn off the pc and turn the connector round on the pins, re -power on your pc.

How to access all items in bios screen

if you cannot acces bios because of bios password and your machine is a desktop pc then open the case, disconnect power lead (having earthed yourself on the metal of the power supply first,) then remove motherboard battery . Replace it after 5 minutes, close cover, replace power lead and power up...any password should be gone.
If you are referring to a machine, such an old Compaq with a propriety bios, then there particular procedures for accessing bios, (F10 button.)

If this does not address your issues then please provide make and model of machine...what you have provided does not appear sufficient to identify the hardware.

I plugged in everything and the computer won't start. I'm sure the buttons are working and so is my power supply. It's a new board it can't be broken.

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause you problems computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure it has charge and they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope it helps

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

I have a gigabyte ga 81865gme775 mother board, can you give me the front pannel connection details

hello jknr09

my name is ausi

i can not find your motherboard on gigabyte web site. however the boards nowadays are standard as far as front panel header goes.

on gigabyte mother board you will see the hedae as two rows of pins like this.

....
..... ....

the bottom row first 4 pins are the speaker pins. the next single pin is void the next two are reset switch. the last two are hard disk lead.
the top row first two pins are message lead (usually not used). the next two pins are power switch exactly opposite the reset switch.

the power lead connection on gigabyte boards are a three pin header next to the front panel header.

hopefully this is helpful.
please vote for me

No power how can i resolve it

If none of the front panel lights turn on when you press the power button, then check the power lead is connected properly to the switch mode power supply and to the mains outlet.
Also try a different power cord.
If it still does not power up then the switch mode power supply is probably faulty.
Install a different switch mode power supply in the desktop computer to see if it powers up (make sure the capacity of this power supply is equal or greater than the original power supply).
If you cannot get another switch mode power supply to test in your desktop computer, then take the switch mode power supply to your friendly computer shop and have them test it for you. Replace the switch mode power supply if it is faulty..
