Question about Memorex Audio Players & Recorders
I'm having the exact same problem, and I'm 99% certain I know how to fix it. Unfortunately I need the cd that came with it, and I don't have it. On the cd there should be a folder with some files to re-install the firmware on the player. It might have "stmp" in the name but I'm not sure. Assuming the cd does have those files, you want to first install the drivers that come in that folder. Then on the mp3 play, keep it unplugged, hold the on switch in the "On" position, and while keeping the switch held, plug in the usb cable to the player(make sure the other end was already plugged into the computer.) What this does is force the player to be detected by windows as a recovery device. Those drivers you installed were for this new setting. Once that's done you can run the firmware installer/updater from the cd, and it should re-install the original firmware. Then just unplug the player, wait 30 seconds or so, and then turn it on as normal. That -should- get it working again. If it doesn't, you might have to plug it back into your computer, the normal way, and format the player's hard drive. You'll lose whatever music and videos you had on it, but it might need to be formatted after a firmware re-install.
If I'm right about the cd having the firmware update(and I should be), and assuming my post is helpful, you might consider putting those files into a zip file and emailing it to me at polign at yahoo dot com so I can fix mine too. I've searched the internet for hours, and no once has it for download. I'd really appreciate it. And if you don't happen to have the cd, then I guess we're both out of luck.
