Accessories for KSM90

I have a KSM90 with no parts. Can you refer me to a store that ships international for a reasonable price? So far the shipping price (80$) was just unacceptable.

Hi. If you haven't already, contact Kitchenaid parts dept. They will probably have what you need. Be prepared to wait about a month for the parts to arrive, as their parts dept. has only one speed...Terminally slow. You can download the parts list and drawings for your mixer so you'll know what the parts numbers are. Ask them about shipping costs. Good luck! ricardok45.

I didn't receive the sausage attachment

Good morning Deborah.

The route to satisfaction will depend on the circumstance of expecting the sausage attachment. If the Mixer was supposed to have the attachment included in the same box, your best bet is to call the manufacturer help line and just say you have a missing part. Get the UPC/bar code from the box, and be ready to quote back any printing on the box like 'Includes Rock Crusher, Turnip Turner, and Sausage Attachments'. It's not all that uncommon for boxes to be mis-packed, especially if it's being done by new-hires brought on in anticipation of holiday sales volumes. Most manufacturers will be pretty cooperative in getting missing parts sent to you.

If the sausage attachment is a separate item, say included as a special deal of 'buy the mixer, get your choice of sausage maker, cheese grater, or kitchen fan attachment' and this was shipped to you, it's pretty likely that the accessory part was shipped separately, and possibly not even from the same place. Call the vendor you bought from, tell them the situation, and ask them to confirm shipping. Sometimes, a special may generate more enthusiasm than expected, so the answer might be 'um, we sold out on the sausage maker, it'll ship in 2 to 3 weeks. Some places will be proactive in contacting you about this sort of thing, others will 'notify' you by changing the response to tracking inquiries from 'shipped 2 days ago' to 'backordered'. If you bother to check.

I recommend calling over e-mailing, if possible. Make sure you ask the name, or employee number, of anyone you talk to, so that you have a record of names, responses, and such in the event you need to escalate up through supervisors or managers.

Good Luck!

I spent 5 hours last night talking to the usa site sears,by the end of it, i was advised, they don't sell products to people in australia,i visited you site and you gave me info to contact sears

Try Servall here in the US. They have a .com site and ship, as I understand, anywhere they can get paid. This company has been in business for over 40 years and has franchises.
The reason you may be having trouble with Sears is they merged with Kmart and are having financial problems.
You may also try to contact Simpson-Sears in Canada. They have stores across Canada, but I know there is a big one in Toronto,Canada. They may not have a problem shipping to your country.
If Sears does not want to mess with Credit cards, then there are such things as International money orders which should work just fine.

How much is the actual price?

If you can still find them in stores they average $225.00. Used ones go for $135 - 200.00 depending on what accessories they have. The full accessory kit can still be purchased today for $129.00 at Home Depot.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Speed selector is fussy, and a short has occured

CCFSILVER - When you say your speed selector is fussy, do you mean fussy in a 'electrical' sense or fussy in a 'mechanical' sense? Also, you didn't say if the short is causing power to the motor to be cut or what specifically the short is doing. For now I'll assume that you mean 'fussy' in an electrical manner. That being said, the speed selector is fixable. If your mixer is under warranty, contact KA and ask them to remedy the problem. If it is not under warranty, then you can attempt to fix it yourself. This will not be for the weak of heart, as you have to disassemble your mixer. It that is not within your capabilty than you should take the mixer to an authorized KA repair shop in your area. If you think you can do it your self, great!
First, do you still have the KSM90 Parts List? If not, you can download a PDF version from the KA website. Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number (in your case, use KSM90P) and select one of the files that appear under Parts List. If you turn to page 6 you will find the exploded view of the motor and the speed control. I suspect your fussy selector issues are being caused by Illus Nos. 24, 25, or 27 (the Governor Assembly, the Control Plate Assembly or Phase Control Board, repsectively). I would order all three parts on the assumption that if one has gone bad, the others aren't far behind. As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order:;;; Prices for the same part may vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping.
Good Luck, I hope this is helpful. Howard, Burke, VA

Oil is leaking

The sealed bearing are probably leaking. They will need to be changed. Or, clean the unit well before using and wait for the bearing to start to freeze up, then get it fixed. Might work for a long time with weaping bearings.

Hi. Before you get too far, call kitchenaid parts to find out if they still have parts for your mixer. They no longer show a parts list for the KSM90 so your mixer may end up in the trash.

Go to and select the Kitchenaid products button then select Kitchenaid mixer parts. Near the top of the page locate the button for the free kitchenaid service manual. Download the manual and read about the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer.

This manual does not cover your mixer but is a usefull tool for working on any mixer. Good luck with it.

Model KSM90 10 speed ultra power stand mixer leaking oil at the shaft where mixer tools attach. Is there a repair kit which includes a oil seal or something like that at a reasonable price?

Hi. Your mixer needs to be serviced, have old grease and oil removed, parts cleaned, then re assembled with new grease. Remove the tapered-pin from the planetary gear, remove planetary gear, clean lubricate and re install. Chevron FM ALC EP-2 is a "Food Grade" lubricant, meaning that it's safe for human consumption if it accidentally gets into food. There are no seals, only bushings. The existing bushings will hold back the new grease. The oil has separated from the base of the grease. If you don't use your mixer very often, start it up about once a week to keep the grease properly mixed.

If you'd like more info on your mixer goto, look up your model # download the PARTS drawings. Use these drawings to re-assemble and to determine if you need any replacement parts. Be prepared to wait at least a month for your parts to arrive.

Mixer Repair

Kitchenaid doesn't repair anything over 1 year old. I have one that is 3 years old (KSM90). I have used it less than 10 times and it stopped working. The plastic piece in the back of the unit that holds all of the wires snapped. There are no repair centers in my state (new mexico). They told me I can pay $32 to have them send me a "repair kit" that includes shipping to and from a repair center and a box and packing materials. They then call you to tell you how much the repair is going to be. If you choose NOT to have them repair it, they charge you a $25 diagnositc fee just for looking at it on top of the $32 you spent to ship it there and back. It's a shame that this appliance costs over $300 and this is the service they give you.
