How do I hook up my adiobahn immortal awis12p quad coil in parallel and in series

Parallel would be + to + and - to -. The end result is that the ohms of each voice coil add together. So 4ohm+4ohm+4ohm+4ohm would be 16 ohm final load. Series is +to -. And the ohms drops. With 4 voice coils you have alot of choices as to how to wire it..all of which is determined by the amplifier you are using.

I got 2 pcs of kicker 12L7, one is 2ohm and the other is 4ohm DVC. in there any chance i can run them together with one amplifier? i got a venom VD2600S and venom 1600.D, will it be ok if i use each...

Run the amp in stero Run the 2ohm to one chanel, Wire the dvc 4ohm to run 2ohm + to + - to - to the other chanel and you should be fine.
If you had a 1ohm stable amp you could run both speakers wired 2ohm to a mono amp and have a 1ohm set up and double the power!

Just want to know if its wired in to 4ohm

Hello fla2ga1008,

To wire the D2 voice coils for 4ohms, you simply jumper the positive side of one coil to the negative side of the other coil (series). Connect the remaining terminals to the amp for a 4ohm load.

If you wire both positives and both negatives together and then to the amp terminals (parallel), the impedance seen by the amp is 1ohm.

Hope this helps.

Mono amp to a 4ohm dvc sub

Hello joverstre525,

Sure, just wire both voice coils in parallel to the amp output terminals. The "wiring wizard" here shows the possible wiring options.

Hope this helps.

15 cvr 4ohm trying to drop to 1 ohm

Are these Dual Voicecoil Subwoofers? Are there 4 terminals on each sub for wires?

If they are Dual 4 ohm voicecoil subwoofers
- connect both + on subwoofer 1
- connect both - on subwoofer 2
- connect both + on subwoofer 2
- connect both - on subwoofer 1

This will give you a 2 ohm STEREO load.
To get a 1 ohm MONO load...
now connect only one of the + on EACH sub to the + on the amplifier.
and the - on EACH sub to the - on the amplifier.
You now have a 1 ohm mono load.

If your speakers are 4ohm single voicecoils (one pair of terminals) the lowest impedence possible is 2 ohms.

This is wired in the same fashion. Both + on the subwoofers to the + on the amp, and both - on the subwoofers to the - on the amp.

Help on 1 amp and 1 alpine srw-124d

You have dual 4-ohm coils. 2 coils per speaker.using one speaker, if you take and run the postive from one coil and connect it to the negative of the other coil, then take a wire from your bridge channel on your amp and connect the positive to the the remaining positive on the one coil and connect the negative to the remaining negative on the other coil you will create a 8ohm load on the amp in bridged mode.

now this is the important part. The bigger the load on the amp the greater the wattage output to the speakers. This sucks the wattage out of the amp. Careful not to overload you amp. The setup above is safe for any amp. The following is for 2ohm stable amps only. The lower the ohm value 2, 4, 8 and so on, the greater the load on the amp.

connect the positive of one coil to the positive of the other. connect the negative of one coil to the other negative of the other coil. then take a wire from your bridge channel on your amp and connect the positive to the the positive on one coil and connect the negative to the negative on the same coil and you will create a 2ohm load on the amp in bridged mode.

Series = add the two ohm value
parallel= halve the ohm value

you can play with series and parallel together using more than one speaker setup.

Wiring my kicker solo-baric 15's

The best you can do is connect the dual 2 ohm voice coils of each respective sub in series (4 ohms total per sub) and then connect each sub to one channel of the amp. This will give each sub 1000W, which is the rated maximum from Kicker.
