The shock sensor is mounted under the dash and is sometimes part of alarm box or separate unit, look for module under the dash and trace wires, it separate box it is often tie wrapped of a set screw, box it 1x1 to 2x2 box usually 3 wires, often attached to steering column or metal strut

SOURCE: shocks or struts for front driver & passanger

The front has struts and the rear has shocks. I used Volvo OEMs. The rears are VERY easy to do yourself. The upper mounts are located behind the rear doors in the trunk area. It takes 15 minutes each to replace the rears.

The fronts are not difficult to remove if you have an air wrench + 6 sided socket, and a special star socket (14mm I think). You can find detailed instructions online. Once the front struts are out of the vehicle, you'll need to compress the springs before taking them apart. I did one myself using loaner spring compressors from Advanced Auto. I brought the second one into my local muffler shop because they have an industrial spring compressor. Make sure that you have a ride available to the nearest Volvo Parts dealer because once you get the struts apart, you'll probably need to replace the rubber bearing assembly in the strut that rotates when the wheel turns. There is also a rubber sleve that surrounds the strut to keep dirt out. The metal mount for his corrodes. The struts are a very important part of your steering, so if you do the fronts use care. Also, be aware that you'll probably be purchasing alot more parts than just the piston for the fronts. Suggest that you price it all out before proceeding.

SOURCE: car wont start engine will crank

One of those relays supply power to the injectors. They fail, as well as the fuel pump relay, rpm sensor, and the main pump. Have you checked the trouble codes in the engine or ignition computers?

SOURCE: knock on front left suspension v70 52 plate

I had a similar noise, I took apart the strut and the bushing on top of the strut was falling apart. Replaced it with a new one for under 100.00. No more noise.

SOURCE: my 2006 volvo s40 won't

I had the same problem when my battery went flat and tried to use jumper cables connected to another vehicles battery. I called Volvo and they said I need to disconnect the battery terminal to reset the computer. After re-conecting it the remote control worked again and I was able to jump start the car. Maybe your car's computer went into a similar state.

Hi there sir . This is the only way to solve your problem. Goodluck and let me know.

The shock sensor is what triggers the alarm when it
detects a blow to your vehicle. It is located over the
right rear wheelhouse near the spare tire in the hatch
area. There are two levels of alarms via the shock
sensor. Two horn blasts and parking lamp flashes for
non
-threatening blows to the vehicle and a full
two
-minute alarm for harder blows to the vehicle. Its
sensitivity can be adjusted if more or less sensitivity is
desired. If sensitivity is increased too much, it may give
false alarms caused by gusts of wind or other natural
events that may shake the vehicle.
To adjust, remove the label covering the adjustment
**** and adjust as desired. Turn the **** clockwise to
increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to decrease
sensitivity. The shock sensor is ignored by the alarm
system when the ignition is on, when the hatch is open,
when the alarm is disarmed, when customized to be
ignored and for five seconds after the horn sounds an
alarm or chirp. The shock sensor is ignored after
triggering three full alarms until the system is rearmed.

Car alarm keeps going off. How to fix this

There could be various reasons why it is being set off. It could be a faulty shock sensor, or you could have a battery drain while car is off. Alarms check for voltage changes while engaged. (That would mean you have an electrical problem) . the battery voltage may be too low. (Or a bad battery/charging circuit)or the alarm itself is malfunctiong.

Does cold weather affect car alarm sensors? Help?!?

it could affect the shock sensor. it may make it less accurate and may take more of an impact to set alarm off but what i can tell you is that most good alarm systems are not affected by the weather , the cheaper brand may be affected by the cold but most no.
