Question about Sylvania SSD803 DVD Player/VCR
"playback feature may not be available on this disc"
I have a DVD and VHS player in 1 and it was working well then all of a sudden the DVD player part just stopped playing. I stick in a disk and then it would read: disk error play back feature may not be available on this disk. And this disk is fine it plays in my daughters room in her 2 in 1 player. so What can I do? The VHS player works well. Help! I dont really want to buy a new one!

Maybe you're trying to burn a PAL (European) file instead of an NTSC (American) file. Run a conversion program like Xilisoft Video Converter or Wondershare, etc. and select "NTSC" when you run the conversion. Then burn the resulting file as usual.

Your player contains operating software which regulates the the type of disc and speed. i have both a emerson unit and a sylvaina unit and there speed was set at 4x. I contacted Funai which makes the player/recorders and they sent me a software disk (the same as a software upgrade for a computer) which i installed and was then able to use 8x disc's. You may be able to purchase 8x discs still online(best bet is best buy.com) and you can contact Funai Corp. for the software upgrade which comes with fairly easy instructions. Good luck

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
