Question about Sony VAIO PCG-K23 Notebook

Cannot start Sony VAIO PCG-5J2L /Goes to black screen only

I left my computer in standby mode and when I returned, the screen was black. I had to turn it off and turn it back on. Upon restarting, it said Windows did not shut down properly and gave me options on how to start (regularly, safe mode). I tried regularly and it took me to a black screen. I had to turm off the computer and turn itt back on again. This time I tried safe mode. It ran through a list of files in what looked like a dos mode, and then it went to a black screen that just said safe mode in all 4 corners and in the top middle said "Microsoft Windows (Build 6001:Service Pack 1). I tried this several times with the same result each time. I tried rebooting and holding down the Windows Key and R key: nothing different happened. I tried rebooting and holding down the F2, F12, F8 keys (separately) and nothing happened. Have I lost everything on my computer? These VAIO's do not come with any type of recovery disks. Please help.

During start-up the computer will go to a black screen for awhile and then the pointer arrow will show alone, and then the system will come up.

If you think it's a hibernation problem, pull the ac plug and battery out for about 1 hour and then plug back in.

If this didn't work, then try the F8 Key and choose "Last Know Good Configuration".

Sony Vaio KPCG-K25 PC Notebook suddenly won't boot up. Windows acts like it's starting, then goes to a black screen. CD drive sounds like it engages, but it too will just go to a black screen.

For that when you power up the computer press F8 key then if you are able to see safe mode and other menu then enter in enable vga mode.
Then go to start menu then control panel ->dispaly ->settings.
Also make sure that graphic driver installed and working fine.
change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
then check in normally.
But if you are not able to see even safe mode then you need recovery disk or windows disk.
Boot computer with that disk.
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios .
Then go to boot menu then set first boot device as cd/dvd rom .then save and exit.
Thern it boot with disk.
Then follow the procedure and repair your previous windows.
Let me kno wif you need further assistance.

there will be two random black spots on the side of your laptop if you pull them off you will find two screws that will be the same on the other side undo all of the screws and pull the plastic of the front of your laptop and the screen will just slide out then follow the wires and you will find a little bit ware you can unplug the wires then do the opisit to putt the screen back in .

When i start up my computer the screen blinks like it has a bad connection then it goes black

the connection may have come loose or screen damaged, try booting in safe mode. if screen still does nothing you will have to check the above,
if screen works, the display settings may be too high.

Notebook will not fully startup

You will have to F8 during boot up and run a system restore I am assuming you are running vista...in the F8 boot screen there is a repair vista.. or something along those lines... The problem is a bad update that needs to be re done most likely Sp1
