Yahoo messenger Opens but no commands acccepted

Computer was hung. I shut it down and opened again. Messenger Box opens but do not accept any command

I can't see the messages I send and messages I receive on the chat box using yahoo messenger

Solution 1

Open internet explorer

To enable scripting:

Click the "Tools" menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select "Internet Options."

Click the "Security" tab.

Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the "Custom Level" button.

Scroll down to "Scripting."

Enable the following:

* Active scripting
* Allow paste operations via script
* Scripting of Java applets are all enabled

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

2. Type in appwiz.cpl and click OK. This opens "Add or Remove Programs."

My yahoo messenger screen is blank. I can't see my own messages nor the answers.

The first step to resolve Messenger crashes on Windows XP is to uninstall runtime components:
  1. On your keyboard, hold the <Windows> key and press the <R> key. This opens the "Run" command.

  3. Select each of the following items and click the "Remove" button. There may be multiple installed versions, so be sure to remove all of them.

Iam unable to view instant messagas from my yahoo messenger.


1. Exit Yahoo! Messenger by right-clicking the tray icon and selecting Exit.
2. Before you edit the registry, you are advised to make a backup:
a. On your keyboard, hold down the Windows key and press the R key. This opens the "Run" command.
b. Type regedit and click OK. This opens the "Registry Editor."
c. On the "File" menu, click Export.
d. In the "Export range" panel, click All, then save your registry as Backup.
3. In the "Registry Editor," browse down to following location in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
4. You should only see a list of numbers under Zones. If you see an unrecognizable character before zone 0, delete that particular key.
5. Close the Registry Editor.
6. Open up Yahoo! Messenger and try to send messages again.

3. Delete all files inside each folder.

disable your firewall and anti-virus then uninstall current version through these steps:
XP OS
To do so, kindly follow these steps:
1. Click the "Start" menu and select "Run."
2. Type "appwiz.cpl" and press "OK." (This is a shortcut to "Add or Remove Programs.")
3. Select "Yahoo! Messenger" and click "Change/Remove."
4. In the window that opens, click "Finish" to uninstall.
5. Click the "Start" menu and select "Run" again.
6. Type in "%ProgramFiles%\Yahoo!\" and press Enter.
7. Delete the "Messenger" folder.

VISTA OS
1. Click the "Start" menu and select "Run." If you do not see the Run command, then select Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
