Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Photosmart C4280 all-in-one. Problem is only with label paper. It prints 3/8" too high throwing everything out. If I change the original, it is fine for three or four sheets but then changes again. It is okay on regular paper. I had the printer for a few months, printing labels a few times before this problem started. Finally after much fuss, HP took the printer back and sent me a refurbished one. It was fine at first, but now is doing the same thing. Am using Windows; it does the same thing using my other computer; I've reinstalled the printer software and that made no difference. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you, April

I have this problem. I'm using Avery 5260 labels, and don't know if some other kind works. It did work for one page, but failed on a later try, leaving an insufficient top margin.

I also have problems printing labels with this printer, each line gets progressively higher and higher and then the last few lines are not withing the label margins.

I'm tired of wasting labels. This printer blows.

Using a labels template, the printing is about 10mm higher when using labels rather than plain paper. Even changing the paper type to 'Other special paper' doesn't help.

my printer did the same thing with Avery 8166 labels. Was fine for me a couple weeks ago, now I try to print the same file and it seems to leave out the top margin and print all the labels too high. If I put in plain paper it's fine, so I don't know what the problem is. I managed the problem by increasing the top margin to the point that the labels were located correctly on the page when printing, but there must be a better way.

You've probably tried this, but I did have success today with Avery 8160 labels. I had been using 5260 labels. There is a difference at the top of the page in the way the backing lines up with the labels.

I use HP Premium Photo paper, 4x6 with tab. Also, there is Photo ink cartridges available for this printer.

Also, use the HP Photosmart Essentials program to print the photos.

Paper jam alarm and paper only starts to feed

I had this problem at work several times. Unplug your printer from the back, wait 2 or 3 minutes, plug back in, problem solved! Also, if this doesn't work, (I'm at home now), but I believe that I got that info from the HP troubleshooting website. Good Luck!
