Sorry to hear about that but don't worry- they are just doing maintenance to their servers. There is nothing wrong with your account and you should be able to get on it within a hour or two. :)

    from an article:

    "
An unidentified number of Hotmail users have been given the shaft for the past two days as Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT) Corp. performs routine maintenance on its e-mail servers, the company said.

Hotmail, one of Microsoft's first Internet services, has gone through a
routine maintenance and upgrade and "should be back up to speed
sometime today," a Microsoft spokeswoman said.

Microsoft would not reveal how many servers were affected or
how many of its 66 million users worldwide were locked out as the
    maintenance and upgrading occurred.

Several users griped over the Internet that they that could not access their e-mail accounts.

"We apologize, but your account is temporary unavailable," read the
message posted to affected Hotmail users as they attempted to access
their inboxes. "The machine that holds your account information is
    temporarily unavailable."

While Microsoft claims the issue is history, at least one user
said mid-afternoon Wednesday that her account still was not accessible.
"I've been down now for two days," said the Hotmail user, who declined
    to be identified."

I cant get into my hotmail whats up with that

Point your web browser at Sign In

If another account comes up, sign out of it by clicking the avatar in the upper-right then clicking "Sign out."

If you then still can't sign in to your account, click the "Can't access your account?" link on the sign-in page.

If you're getting an error message, what does it say?

If you want to make a Microsoft email account, you'll have to sign up for something called a Windows Live ID. A Windows Live ID is your sign-in for all Microsoft online sites and services, and comes with an email account through Microsoft's own Hotmail.

You can sign up for one of these accounts for free at any time of the day or night through your own Web browser.

Open your Web browser.

Visit the Windows Live ID site (see the Link at Bottom )

Click "Sign up for an account."

Select the "No" option and then click "Continue."
This will make sure that you get a Microsoft email account alongside your Windows Live ID.

Fill out the form in your browser.
You need to provide a screen name for your email address and also provide as much personal information about yourself as you feel comfortable.

Once you've filled out the boxes, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click "I Accept." This will create your Microsoft email account which you will be automatically logged into.

Occasionally, you may have to change or reset the password for your Windows Live ID to sign in to Zune.net or to access your Zune account.

To change or reset the password for your Windows Live ID, follow these steps:
1. Visit the following Web page, and then click Forgot Your Password?: http://login.live.com (http://login.live.com) 2. Type your Windows Live ID, type the characters that appear in the Picture box, and then click Continue. 3. Click Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. 4. Click Send Message. 5. On the confirmation page, click Done. 6. Sign in to your e-mail account, and then click the link in the e-mail message to reset your password. 7. On the Confirm your e-mail address page, type your e-mail address, and then click Continue. 8. Type your new password two times, and then click Continue. 9. If you want to enter an "alternate" e-mail address, type the address two times, and then click Continue.

If you do not want to enter an "alternate" e-mail address, click Skip. 10. When you receive the "You've changed your password" message, click Done. For more information about Windows Live ID services, visit the following Windows Live ID Web site: http://get.live.com/getlive/overview
