I don't have a remote control for my TEAC Televideo Model MV 1490. I can't work out how to change the TV to AV input so it can receive the picture from a DVD player. There are two sets of AV jacks at the back of the unit, one for in and the other for out. I have connected a DVD player to the input jacks of the TV and tried pushing every button on the front of the unit but nothing will switch it to the AV Channel. The unit is in excellent condition with every thing working great except for this problem.
Can I still obtain a remote for this unit? There must be a way to manualy select AV on the unit. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.

DVD has AV out pins at rear, hook AV cable between DVD player out and TV AV input (yellow-red-white RCA pins) and select that AV input in TV by remote that you hooked DVD. That will switch TV to that input and TV will show you DVD player picture.
you might try going to channel 00 If you cannot just dial the number 00, go to channel 2 and then channel down. Does not always work, but without the model number of the TV it is hard to advise further
I had this problem with my TV/VCR combo unit (Samsung CXC1972) after losing the remote while in the dorms. I tried a few different universal remotes and dozens of codes before I tried the Philips 3 device universal remote as pictured below with code 037 programmed into the VCR/DVD button. I can't change the volume with this code but the input key switches between line in and tv. You can also change the channel, access the menu and operate the VCR functions with the code. I bought the remote for less than $10 at Walmart so it might be worth a try, and if it doesn't work you can always bring it back. Hope this helps.
