Plug the unit in and it will not let you change the correct time and will start by itself for 1 minute and 40 seconds, i put a large bowl of water in the unit and let it run this cycle and then after a few minutes it will restart again with the same run time.

I advice you to contact service if it has guarantee. This seems to be a psychological problem about your oven(!). Technical person need to do an electronic research surgery on its board to see if there is any wrong thing.
We have a Samsung SMH9187ST that just shuts off. no power at all. this is the 2nd time it happened, this time my husband was home to witness. First time I somehow got it to start working again , this time no luck. it was manufactured Dec 2009
Yes! Take it right back to the store for exchange, cause could be a bad magnetron "that heats food" and a couple parts that work together with the magnetron,or there may be issues with the keypad, none of these will be cheap to fix.
1. If you press the 'Delay Start' button, the time display will go blank. 2. Now enter the correct time, using the 'Minutes' buttons to set the hour, and the 'Seconds' buttons to set the minute. 3. Now press 'Clock' 4. Sorted!
Q - My microwave seems to shut off every once in a while, what might be wrong? A - Make sure you hear the fan is still operating in your microwave. Next is to make sure the air intake grill on your microwave is not plugged up with air borne dust and dirt. Q - The fan in my microwave oven is not running will this hurt my microwave? A - YES, the fan cools the magnetron and electronics, take the microwave in for service, most fans are not too expensive to replace. Q - My microwave blows the fuse inside itself as soon as I push the start button. A - Usually a shorted high voltage capacitor...see components section.
