.. If you've tried to reset the Zune (press and hold the Back button and then press the top of the Control pad until the Zune logo appears, then release) and it didn't work or do what it was s'posed to do, then drain the battery. .. Leave the device disconnected from the computer. every 15 min or so, press the Play/Pause button to get the logo screen. Repeat 'til you're ready tp puke and the Zune doesn't even blink when you press anything. .. Connect the Zune to your computer (a back USB port if'n y'all gots a desktop, any port on a laptop but make sure the laptop is plugged in also) and leave the thing to charge an absolute **minimum** of Three Hours, preferably four, even overnite. .. Disconnect the device and press the Play/Pause until the Zune logo appears. ***Immediately*** do a reset of the device, as described above. Methinks that y'all will be rollin' along nicely at that point. .. If not, then a Restore of the Zune may be needed, but as a last resort as the Restore will wipe your Zune clean. Is your warranty still active? If it is, then get a hold of Zune support and get a Repair Order started. You can also do this online.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"
Inserting blank spaces while recording to tape (Auto Space) The Auto Space Function inserts a 3-second blank space between each track while recording from MDs to tapes, allowing you to use the AMS function during later playback. Press A.SPACE repeatedly until “A.SPACE” appears in the display. To cancel Auto Space Press A.SPACE repeatedly until “A.SPACE” disappears. Note If the Auto Space Function is on while recording a selection containing multiple track numbers, (for example, a medley or symphony), blank spaces will be inserted within the selection whenever the track number changes.
in order to fix this . you have to restart the device. to restart the device you press and hold back while also pressing and holding the top part of the zune pad until screen goes blank and zune logo appears this should work. if contact support comes back up try restoreing the device.
for more info on how to restore the zune go to zune.net/support and press technical issues and a list with how to fix any problems will appear
Uninstall all zune software and download and install it again. Possibly a bad download.
Or run error check on your computer then try it again.
Go to my computer, right-click on C: - go to properties- then go to TOOLS tab. Click on Error check - make sure you have both boxe(s) checked to fix errors as they are found then hit start. You will have to restart your computer for this check to happen. Usually takes a a few hours, but recommended to do at least once every few months.
