MY DRIVERS SIDE POWER SEAT WONT GO BACK OR FORWARD BUT ALL OTHER PARTS OF THE SEAT WORK FINE I CAN HEAR SOMETHING CLICKING WHEN I TRY TO MOVE THE SEAT BUT THE SEAT WONT GO BACK OR FORWARD

Check under the seat for broken wires. Forward and backwards is the function most used and causes the wires to bend back and forth. you may need to remove the seat for inspection or you may be lucky and see the problem just by raising the seat as high as it will go.

Seat height adjustment

Hi
There should be a set of levers on the right hand side (left hand if you are on the left). one of these will move the seat back and forth, one will raise and lower and one will move the seat back.
Some of these rise and fall levers are a "pump action style" where you push down to get the level or pull up.
Other type will raise the seat fully either up or down. Its on a cam.
I have had these seize before and have had to replace the mechanism.
Cheers

Hi; I have a 280 SLK, 2007. The driver seat does not move back and forth and seems to be stuck. The right side of the seat moves (and hence skews forward) but the left side remains stuck. Perhaps...

Just repaired that same problem on my the old ladys 2007 slk 280. Found flexible cable similar to that of a speedometer cable pulled out of end of seat motor. Feel around underneath seat towards back of seat for loose end of flex cable and simply slip it back in the slot at the end of motor

Drivers seat wont move forward. power moves the seat up and down but not forward or back

try tapping the motor that runs the seat back and forth.sometimes the motors get corroded if they are not used often enough.

My 04 navigator left power seat wont move any direction and pedal adjust wont move...there is a clicking sound coming from a black box under seat but no function

it does not appear that the driver seat or adjustable pedal share anything in common

furthermore, the sound you hear clicking may be the actual seat motor trying to work, but lets do a quick test

try to move the seat up/down, forward/back and any combination. If while holding the button in said position and you consistently hear the clicking sound that follow the sound and touch the motor under your seat. If you feel the "clicking" then your seat motor is bound or siezed and will need repair.

if instead you just hear one click then you might be experiencing a relay problem

As for the pedal adjustment... have you checked fuse #109 (30A) @ the CJB (Central Junction Box) behind the right kick panel?

My driver side seat will not move forward or backward

Can you hear the motor turn when trying to go back and forth? If not, motor may be faulty or bad relay in the wiring to that motor.
If you hear motor and seat doesn't move, then the motor may have fallen off track

2003 GMC ENVOY DRIVER POWER SEAT WILL NOT MOVE FRONT OR BACK

if it sounds like it wants to but doesnt, like you can hear the motor but it is locked up, here is a way to fix it.look at seat and see if it looks sort of cocked and you may have to straighten the seat by keeping rod in one side or other and spinning it until seat is straight. there are 2 flexy cables that run side to side and cause the seat to move. they usually have a black plastic coating on them.remove them both. with both off hit switch and see if you hear the motors. If so you should lubricate tracks with silicone spray or spray grease.put cables back into holes and it should work.the cable may give you a lil trouble coming out but just pull back and forth they wont break

My front seat will not move forward. It will recline, move up and down but it will not move forward. I've tried reseting the seat positions but nothing seems to work. my seat wont move forward is there a...

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

My driver side power seat will not move forward or back. Up and down, and recline still work. Is this most likely a fuse, motor, or switch problem?

hello dschlig, most common for these seats are the motors. I would recommend raising the seat as high as possible. While trying to activate the seat in the forward/back positions, see if you hear or feel a clicking in the motor under the seat. The motor can be recognized closest to the carpet, and has 2 rods going to each seat track. If the motor clicks, inspect the connector and make sure nothing dislodged it. If it is ok, you can use a small hammer and an extension and lightly tap the motor to see if it will maybe release. If you know how to use a volt-meter, you can also check for power to the motor connector when sliding the switch in either direction. The motor can be replaced seperately.
