Trying to hook up my DVD APEX AD1201 to the television

I just received DISH NETWORK and am happy with it, but now I would like to get my DVD player hooked up again and am having trouble. I called the tech support at DISH but they were not very nice or helpful and I am one of these persons that needs to be led hand by hand . He did say to undo the coaxial cable from the back of the television and hook it into the dvd player, but that is not feasible as there is no hook up for a screw in type cable hook up. So now what do I do? I do have the DVD player on top of the television and it is plugged in but that is it. I do not know what or where to go now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did buy a RF modulater for my television in my bedroom which is very very very old and that worked great when I had it hooked up but then I was also on calbe television at the time. Now I decided to move the dvd player to the main tv in the living room but do not have a clue what to do. I did not have to use the modulator in the living room. If I rehook up the modulator in the bedroom again, can I still use the dvd player ? I am sure it is probably a very simple fix for all this, but after reading the manual, I am still at a loss. Thanks for any help. Would sure like to see all my dvds again. LOL.

There should be rca jacks on the back of your dvd that say audio out, and jacks that say video.out Conect them wires to your audio and video in using the same color ends. This should help you out. Let me know.

DVD players don't support coaxial connections, the coax cable either goes into the digital receiver or the TV.
If you have a scart lead, connect it to the DVD player and the back of the TV.
All you have to do then is flick through the AV or signal channels to pick up the DVD player and watch your movies

kind regard

Please check at back of DVD Player and find 3 Output terminals, Yellow for Video out, Red & White for Audio out,
Hook up Composite video cable (RCA 3 pin cable) on same colors on dvd player and put other end terminals of cabel at back of Tv in AV input-1 or 2.
Select AV Input of TV by remote and play dvd player. Picture and sound would be there.
Good Luck.

Sir,

Oftentimes some of the capabilities of these cable or sat receivers are disabled. You can try calling your service provider and asking.

Otherwise, you could buy a switcher. You can connect 2-4 components to the switcher and then connect it's output to the TV. If you truly have an old TV with only a screw-type RF cable connector and not even the red/white/yellow plugs for audio/video input, you should also buy an RF modulator. Ideally, buy something that combines these two items, such as the Magnavox M61151, which is less then $29 at Amazon

thanks
goodluck

Trying to set up dish network remot to apex dvd player

dr172120,

I'm sorry you are having problems programming your DISH Network remote to your Apex DVD player. I looked through our remote codes but I don't show we have a code for an Apex DVD player. We do have remote codes for an Apex TV. You can run a power scan to see if you can find a code for the DVD player. I have provided the instructions to conduct the power scan below. If you have any other question, please post to this site.

DISH Network - Executive Offices

Address To Other Equipment Using Power Scan
  • Remote: All Remotes (except Basic)
    1. With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button backlights illuminate, then release.
    2. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressing and releasing the Power button
      • Press 0 for a TV
      • Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
      • Press 2 for any other device.
      Then Press STAR (*)
    3. Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. Note: If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
    4. Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

Need remote code for Apex AD-1201 DVD player w/Comcast universal remote (red OK button, black Comcast letters)

I don't have the original control remote for Apex Ad-1201 DVD player. I would like to use my Universal Remotes: Radio-shack USA "flag" 4-IN-ONE Remote and / or RCA 312W three component remote. I got the codes from the manuals but my DVD player doesn't work or turn off (only ejecting; open and close) with pause button. Could I get a possible code (s) for these Universal Remotes?

How do i install a dvd player with dish network

Hello, if your receiver and tv are HD you want this hooked up separately to get the best picture. If you just want it hooked up to standard definition then take the cable going from the receiver to the tv and connect it from your receiver to your DVD then connect one from your DVD to your tv.

How do u hook up the dvd player and dish network to your tv

If you have HD TV it is best to hook up the DVD player separately.

The easiest way to connect your DVD player with your TV, is to find the cable going from the receiver to the TV and disconnect it from the TV.
Connect this cable to the back of the DVD player where it says "in" or "input".
Next take another cable and connect it from the DVD player output to the TV. Once you've done this make sure your TV set is tuned to the proper input or source. Your DVD's should play when the receiver is off, however, you'll probably need your DVD player on to get the DISH signal.

Cannot get a clear picture with dish network I have a Clear picture when using DVD

Sometimes the input/channel for the DISH Network and the DVD are different, and if using the same for both, then you will get an unclear picture on one. If at TV1, the tv will need to be on channel 3 or 4, and possibly an input such as video 1 or 2. The DVD player may be on a different input, such as video 3, or even just on channel 3 only. If at TV2, the tv needs to on channel 60 or 73. When using the DVD, try putting the tv on channel 3 or 4, that is normally the channel that the tv needs to be on. Also, make sure that the DVD player is not on while you are trying to watch just the dish.

I have a Sova monitor that I'm trying to hook up to DishNetwork. I get sound but no picture

We would be happy to help you with that. The first thing wewant to try is unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds that plugging it back in,it should take about 5 minutes to reset. We also want to ensure that the DISHNetwork receiver is connected to your TV correctly, please visit this link tosee how it should be connected:http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/setup-receiver. If you are able to,connect another component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the same TV, using samecable, same input, and same channel to see if it works. If it still doesn'twork, the cable needs to be replaced, if it does work with the other componentconnected, give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474) for some additionaltroubleshooting.

We hope these steps get your picture up and running. Thanks for being a valuedDISH Network customer!
