This problem can be cause by overheating of your computer or thsi is a problem with the power supply of the computer, first thing that you can do here is to try adding a coller like CPU fans to make sure it wont overheat, but if after that still have the same problem a power supply repalcement is already needed....

My hp 1630n keeps shutting down for no apparent reason. sometimes it goes all day then shuts down, sometimes for 10 mins. it isnt running hot either. replaced power supply with one that is 400w and it...

This might be an indication that a hardware is failing. go to BIOS and leave it turned on, see if it will still shut down randomly. If it does, then it is definitely a hardware problem. If it still under warranty, call HP for support. You can also visit HP Support Website for more info.
If it is hardware problem, try isolating it by re-seating the parts which has an integrated chip like RAM, VIDEO CARD and CPU. If you have two sticks of RAM, try each one without the other and see which one is failing. You can also switch to the integrated video if you have one to test the graphics card. Make sure you have the proper knowledge on how to handle these parts as this might cause damage on the computer and electric shock.

I want to increase the memory ram of my lap top: HP pavilion ze4910us What kind and how much memory can I install ?

You can upgrade, have a look at the specs;

Pavilion ze4910us Memory Specifications Standard Memory 512 MB (removable) Maximum Memory 1.0 GB Memory Expansion 2 sockets Memory Comments PC2100/2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs CPU Type 1.4GHz Intel Celeron M 330 Model Comments 400MHz FSB Memory Upgrade for HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop, the HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop takes the PC2100/2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.
Choose the following Memory Upgrade for HewlettPackard Pavilion ze4910us Laptop.

Hope that helps.

I need a list of compatible video cards for an hp pavilion a1220n, can any one help?

Hello,

I would recommend Nvidia graphics card.
It is one of the best, and compatible with your computer.
I would recommend one of the most recent models.
Check with your local computer shops and they will assist you in getting a good recent model.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.

Hp Pavilion dv8216tx with 512mb video graphic memory

Then the service engineer needs to go back to school and learn to read. For if you look up the specs to your model. It clearly states:
Processor
Centrino Technology - Intel Core Duo Processor T2300 (1.66 GHz)
Chipset
Intel 945 PM Express Chipset
L2 Cache / FSB
2 MB L2 Cache / 667 MHz FSB
Memory
1 GB PC2-5300 (667 GHz) DDR2
HDD
160 GB Serial ATA, 150 MB/ Sec @5400 RPM
Optical Drive
Lightscribe 8X Double Layer (8.5 GB) DVD +RW/ +R Writer
Graphics
****NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 Dedicated Video Graphics with 512 MB TurboCache****
Display
17.0" WideScreen (WXGA+) with Dual Lamp and Ultra BrightView Technology
OS

My suggestion^ Go to someone who knows about computers and who knows how to read too. Hope this is helpful.

Good Luck =)

Graphic Card Change

My opinion, the video card your going to change to would be a bit better cause it has more memory on it. Anytime you can get a video card that has more memory means it can process the information quicker so gameplay should be smoother.

Computer crash/need upgrade

I need more information to properly assess this problem.

What sort of P.C. is this? How old is it? How much R.A.M. (Random Access Memory) do you have? What O.S. (Operating System) are you currently using?

My first "guess" is that this is a lack of R.A.M. Games usually use an awful lot of memory for their graphics functions in their programs.

Today's standard for most computer operations are about 1 G.B. (Gigabyte) of D.D.R. (Double Data Rate) R.A.M. (Random Access Memory)
