MY DEL DESKTOP 531 THE DISK CLEANUP HAS NOT BEEN WORKI NG & MY BACK UP HAS NOT BEN WORKING AS I CAN NOT DELETE OR KNOW WHAT TO DELETE BUT I CAN'T DO THAT NOW

Wow! Where to start? First of all if the computer has Windows XP loaded on it that is no longer supported by Microsoft. If you want to re-install an OS (operating system software) I would suggest Windows 7.

Taskbar not working

Hello,

Restart your computer. It usually does the trick. Computers need refreshing.

If restarting it won't fix the problem, then try restoring the computer. Go to start or pearl button > programs > system tools > system restore

Once the system restore window is open, select a date when the toolbar was still working. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the procedure. Let the computer to restart.

Note: Restore will uinstall your new software. You should need to install it back in. Usually, the problem won't come back after doing that but if it does, just let me know by replying to this thread.

thank you!

I cannot locate my toolbar on my screen and also how do i recall items i minimized. they disappeared.

Press the windows key from the keyboard. It will help you to locate the task bar, then right click on the taskbar go to properties at the very top you will have three options uncheck the option that says auto hide the taskbar click on apply and ok.
That should do it, in case of any further help please reply back.

I run Windows XP Professional. Today there showed up a second layer of taskbar. It has ''Desktop'' in light blue, ''My Documents'' ''My computer'' and ''My Network Places'' shown in white with icons. ...

You have only increased your taskbar size, don't worry...
Right-click on an empty part of the taskbar, and ensure the "lock the taskbar" is unchecked. Next, position your mouse right on the top edge of the taskbar, your mouse should change to two black opposing pointing arrows. Hold left-click, and drag the taskbar down.
This will reduce the taskbar back to the way you're used to.
Hope this helps, and please rate this answer.
