Re: Intervideo windvd.

Try playing the dvd in windows media player, if it plays in that programme, then the intervideo programme is faulty.

When I play DVDs on my HP Pavillion dv5220, the sound and picture lag even when using different DVD playing programs. Why is the DVD stuttering, and what can I do to fix it?

Try using a third party program like WinDVD or InterVideo. You can get free downloads of a lot of them, and HP has never had the best record for player technology so they can use all the help they can get!

My laptop wont play dvds. it doesnt recognize them

Hi ,
does it play cdroms ? if not , you have a driver problem , so ,
1st- lets go to the control panel , look for device manager , next find the DVD/cdrom and click on that to see what driver you have , next right click on the driver and click scan for hardware changes
, if that does'nt work , remove the driver all together and reboot your computer to load the right driver , you can also right click on the driver and go to prop. and see if the device is working correctly ................let me know ...............................Good luck Roy

I am getting an error when disc loads into WinDVD player

reinstall windvd if that doesn't work than uninstall and go to windows explorer and delete windvd folder that it left behind than reinstall it again fresh. If that does not work you should upgrade.

From what I have researched, your laptop should have come with software to play Blu ray - such as Intervideo WinDVD BR

The software is not available to the public and only comes with such laptops and blu ray drives.

Hope I have helped

War and Peace?!?!!? That's it....Microsoft just hit a new low...*sigh* well as far as making your computer work its sounds to me like you need a ram upgrade...also upgrading your video card will help it run faster... i know it sounds costly but take a look on new personal opinion downgrade back to XP...and if your up for it linux flavors are getting more and more user friendly everyday and require a fraction of the ram required for windows....good luck to you

Dvd player

Hi Zekeo, To play DVDs you need a couple of things, a drive capable of reading your DVDs, a program to play them with and the correct Codec (compression/decompression) software to tell the program how to *read* the DVD. The ?no decoder found? error would tend to indicate you don?t have a program capable of playing DVDs installed or its not installed correctly. What program are you trying to play DVDs with? The free versions of Real Player and the newer versions of Media Player will work for the most part (I?ve had more success with Real) but they sometimes have problems decompressing the DVD in order to play it. In that case they typically will try to go to their respective web sites to update themselves and hopefully get the software they need. My experience with these programs is that if they are up to date and have the latest Codec?s they can generally play most N. American commercial DVDs, however, I have been let down at the wrong times by Media Player and occasionally by Real as well Current version of free Real Player (make sure your PC meets the requirements first): Generally I prefer to rely on InterVideo?s WinDVD, for about $40 it?s been a great investment for me: Let us know if you have any other question on this topic and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
