Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

It won't come on properly. Somethings very wrong. Please help!

When i try to turn on my MP3 player the screen says GoGear but does not progress any further. The blue lights do not come on and it gets quite warm! When i put it up to my ear i hear a high pitched noise and, with slight movement, a sort of springy 'boingy' noise (not a technical term i know). I have tried resetting by holding on/off and volume down and i have tried recharging but it won't do anything. I fear that it is not fixable but i don't have the box or receipt or anything. Is there anything i can do? Any advice at all would be gratefully appreciated.

CLICKING HARD DISK is usually a sign of a problem with the hard disk. If this is the case it will have to be replaced.

Check the hard disk as follows:

Connect the HDD to the mains adaptor and the PC.

Before the computer has a chance to recognise the player, press "Power" and "Vol +" to reset the player.

As soon as the player resets (screen goes blank) press and hold "Vol -" until the PC recognises the player as a removable drive.

Try to access the player through "My Computer" as you would the main hard disk.

Hi, my mp3 player is not turning on. when i try to open it, the screen shows file system error

if your PC can show the removable disk drive you should format it. In this case all the folders and media files will be erased on your player.
If the PC can not see the player you could try to make firmware upgrade.

I want to get music on my mp3 player

After you sync your music collection to a Philips GoGear MP3 player with Windows Media Player, your favorite tunes will always be with you. Backing up your music collection on an MP3 player requires only a USB cable and a computer. Follow these steps to find out how easy it is.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • Philips GoGear MP3 player
  • Computer
  1. Plug in the Philips GoGear to your computer. Use a USB cable to make the connection so you can begin synchronizing your music collection.
  2. Start Windows Media Player. Depending on how your computer is set up, this program may start automatically when you make the connection with the MP3 player.
  3. Find the Sync tab in the media player window. Click on this tab and open the Sync screen. The Sync screen has two panes. The left pane is for the music collection on your computer; the right pane is for the Philips GoGear.
  4. Choose the songs from your collection that you want to add to the GoGear's memory. Check the boxes that are presented by each song title.
  5. Click the "Start Sync" button. The files from your computer are being copied onto your GoGear MP3 player.
  6. Wait for the sync to complete. You can monitor the progress in the "Windows Media Player" window.
  7. Close the media player program. Unplug your Philips GoGear from the computer.

My MP3 Is Frozen

Unfortunately, this GoGear did not come with a recovery method. You can go to and enter in your model #. Go to "software & drivers" section. see if it has a download for device/firmware manager - but I believe this is the one SA model that did not have one. Click on the "Repair" tab if you are able to load the software.

Philips Turns Back Off

Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Switch off the player.

Press and hold [VOL+] whilst connecting the player to the PC.

Device manager should report device error.

Follow on-screen prompts.

This should format the player and re-load the system files.
