Question about Canon i950 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Canon i950 ... paper will not load into printer.

Once I give a print order to the i950... the machine makes sounds as if it is preparing to print.  Then... the paper appears to load...about 1/8 of the page lowers into the printer.  From there... nothing happens.  The typical printing sounds are still made by the printer, but the paper does not advance into the printer.  Then... I get a "paper jam" message from the printer icon in my dock.  Anybody know how I can get the paper to load properly and print correctly?
Thanks in Advance!

Dear tigerdawg,
As my longtime experience, it seems that any other material such as broken paper, etc present inside paper path of your printer. Please check and remove the material. If you cannot do this by yourself you may ask someone or take the printer to the nearest service center. I hope this help you then rate this as fixya.
Regards,

How to load envelopes in a canon mg3250 printer

Hi
Please find below a fairly comprehensive guide to using envelopes on your machine
The address is automatically rotated and printed according to the envelope's direction by specifying with the printer driver properly.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif You can only print on envelopes with the computer.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Do not use the following envelopes. They could jam in the machine or cause the machine to malfunction.
- Envelopes with an embossed or treated surface
- Envelopes with a double flap
- Envelopes whose gummed flaps are already moistened and adhesive Prepare envelopes.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif Press down on all four corners and edges of the envelopes to flatten them.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif If the envelopes are curled, hold the opposite corners and gently twist them in the opposite direction.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif If the corner of the envelope flap is folded, flatten it.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif Use a pen to press the leading edge in the inserting direction flat and sharpen the crease.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif The envelopes may jam in the machine if they are not flat or the edges are not aligned. Make sure that no curl or puff exceeds 0.1 inches (3 mm). Load envelopes.
(1) Open the front cover gently, and extend the paper support.
(2) Use the right paper guide (A) to slide both paper guides all the way out.
(3) Load the envelopes in the center of the front tray WITH THE ADDRESS SIDE FACING DOWN.
The folded flap of the envelope will be faced up on the left side.
Push the envelopes all the way to the back of the front tray.
Up to 5 envelopes can be loaded at once.
(4) Slide the right paper guide (A) to align the paper guides with both sides of the envelopes.
Do not slide the paper guides too hard against the envelopes. The envelopes may not be fed properly.
Do not overload envelopes by stacking until the top of the stack touches the paper guides. (5) Open the output tray extension.
Open the paper output tray.and extend the paper output support.
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Be sure to open the paper output tray when printing. If not open, the machine cannot start printing. After loading envelopes
c:\users\mike\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image003.gif Select the size and type of the loaded envelopes on the print settings screen of the printer driver. You may find it easier to download the manual from here

On my Canon i950, when the printer starts to print the paper is sucked in by a rotating motor, but it seems like that motor is spinning too fast that it causes the paper to go sideways, crinkle, and jam....

Purchased a Canon i950 for years ago... printing beautifully... did not use for the last two months and now has just stopped printing... reinstalled driver, still same problem - does not print a test page...

Check if the printer status is ready under Control Panel- Printers.

Make sure that correct port is used (Printer properties- Ports tab).

Also, check if the printer is online. Control Panel-Right click printer and choose Use Printer Online.

Hope this helps.

Up until today, my i950 was printing perfectly. Today, after it flashes green, I get 7 flashing yellow lights. I noticed one ink cartridge was loose. Putting it back into place did not fix the problem,...

It indicate that your print head may defective probably cause by electrical connection. OK u may try this, unplug the print head and clean the print head electrical contact part and also the printer itself contact part with dry paper and install it back. Make sure the contact part is fix into the holder completely. Hope this help.

Can not print from my Cannon i950. 'paper thikness lever position

A friend of mine had the same problem and turned out to be the print head. They can be pricey so a new printer would be in order probably. Could also be the waste ink counter as well. Here are some steps to see if you can get rid of the 7 orange blinks:

1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print (exit service for i960)
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

If this doesn't work then you know its the print head for sure.
