Question about Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Casio ex z60 was dropped, screen is intact no image from ccd

The camera plays back previous images fine and the menu works as well. But there is no image from the ccd. So the screen is black except for the menu options.

The camera does not take pictures.
I know the LCD is okay. I had hoped there might be a ribbon that was knocked loose between the image processor and the lcd somewhere. I wouldn't know where to look. when opened up, the front pcb looked okay. I know the repair would be prohibitive, and I might sell the camera for the screen.

YOU STATE THAT THE CAMERA PLAYS BACK PREVIOUS IMAGES? ARE YOU STILL ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES? IF YOU ARE, MOST LIKELY THERE HAS BEEN SOME DAMAGE BETWEEN THE IMAGE PROCESSOR AND THE LCD. THE FACT THAT THE MENU AND OTHER IMAGES STILL WORK MEANS THE LCD IS OK, SO YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO HAVE THE CAMERA REPAIRED TO CORRECT THE DAMAGE FROM THE IMAGE PROCESSOR TO THE LCD, BUT I BELIEVE THE REPAIR COST WILL BE MORE THAN THE COST OF THE CAMERA. I FOUND THE CAMERA ON EBAY FOR A STARTING BID OF $9.99. SORRY, BUT I JUST WANT YOU TO HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217. IF THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL, PLEASE RATE, THANKS!

CCD is going for Failure !

it starts like this first indoor ok and outdoor over exposed then
indoor pics also when u see them closely turns pink or green in shades then horizontal vert lines appear then completely blank

just check with casio if they have issued service advisory for the CCD failure problem as all others have issued they will do it free of charge

Casio EX z60

A few possiblities:
This could be the CCD block, or the image processor area, or failure in the memory. These are just a few examples.

The service tech will change the defective boards and parts, and then go through the calibration procedure.

Casio camera

try resetting. press menu, go to setup, go up to reset, press right arrow, highlight reset and press set. If that doesn't work then its a repair. Send it into repairs and they will send you an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. Give them a call at 800-706-2534 option 2.
